ENDOWMENTS

Endowed funds are critically important to the financial health of Michigan Athletics, as they provide stable, long-term funding for our growing scholarship needs. Over 70% of our student-athletes earn partial or full scholarship support from the University, which the Athletic Department entirely reimburses. In the 2009-10 academic year, that expense totaled more than $15 million.

You may establish a scholarship for outstanding student-athletes at the following levels.

• Full Scholarship -- This scholarship covers the costs of tuition, room, board, books and fees. It is endowed at the $500,000 level.
• Tuition Scholarship -- This scholarship covers the costs of tuition and is endowed at the $250,000 level.

Endowments can also be set up to fund coaching positions and facility operation.
