Ontario woman charged after dog dies in hot car

Huntsville, Ontario— The Canadian Press

A 24-year-old woman faces a criminal charge after a dog died inside a hot car in Huntsville, Ont.

Provincial police who responded to a call late Wednesday morning found a 14-month-old chocolate lab that had been locked in a car with no opening in the windows for about 3 1 / 2hours.

Police say the dog had no water and the temperature when officers arrived was 28 C.

A Huntsville woman has been charged with causing an animal to suffer.

She is due in court July 20.

Her name has not been released.
