Bradl tops Moto2 Warm Up

Saturday, 19 March 2011

In an unusual format, the warm-up for the Moto2 race was held 24 hours before race time and it was Stefan Bradl (Viessmann Kiefer Racing) who headed the timesheets. The conditions were warmer than previous evenings with less wind and it was the final time to prepare for the upcoming race.

The German who lines up on pole position tomorrow, again was in form and it was the Spaniard behind him of Marc Márquez (Team Catalunya Caixa Repsol), as per qualifying.

Third quickest was Alex de Angelis (JiR Moto2) with Julián Simón (Mapfre Aspar) and Aleix Espargaró (Pons Racing) behind in fourth and fifth. Simone Corsi (Ioda Racing Project) and Axel Pons (Pons Racing) delivered good times to finish sixth and seventh respectively.

Scott Redding (Marc VDS Racing) ended the warm up in eleventh place, whilst Mattia Pasini (Ioda Racing Project) had a spectacular off in the final few moments of the warm up, but luckily was unharmed. Bradley Smith (Tech 3) also crashed into the gravel and was uninjured.
