A 17-year-old Houston woman is facing serious charges after police say she threw a pot of boiling water on her boyfriend. He is not expected to survive, KHOU-TV (Channel 11)  is reporting.

Keira Jones is charged with aggravated assault of a family member.

According to court documents, Jones got into an argument with her boyfriend, Ira Jones, on June 18. Investigators said she was angry because Ira Jones had talked to another woman. At some point during the argument, investigators said Keira Jones threw a pot of boiling water on Ira Jones.

He called his father and said he was hurt, and his father came to pick him up.
