Goodyear

The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company's name is synonymous with airships. The words "The Goodyear Blimp" have become well known over the past 75 years, and their fleet of blimps have become familiar sights over major sporting and cultural events across the globe.

Goodyear North America owns and operates 3 blimps of their own design and manufacture in the USA.

Up until 2001 TLG operated an A-60+ Lightship in Australia, named the "Spirit of the South Pacific, which spent much of its time providing aerial filming coverage of major cricket, rugby, and Australian football events in the country's largest cities. Goodyear's Australian tour concluded in the most magnificent style, providing the aerial coverage of the Sydney Olympic Games for NBC.

In addition, between 1998 and 2002 TLG also operated two A-60+ Lightships in Europe, named Spirit of Europe 1 and 2.

From 1998 to 2006 TLG flew for Goodyear in Brazil, covering many of the country's major sporting events for the Globo TV network.

Currently, TLG is operating for Goodyear in China. Please take a moment to view the amazing video of the Goodyear blimp floating over Shanghai.

Goodyear are masters of blimp innovation, and the fact that they are prepared to hand the responsibility of operating part of their fleet to The Lightship Group, is a testament to our professionalism and experience.
