BSN takes steps to grow wealth management business
PUTRAJAYA: Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) has enrolled 15,000 customers for its wealth management products and services since its introduction last year.
To grow the list, the community bank would assign more personnel to handle the new business from 96 now to 350 by year-end, said BSN Chief Executive Datuk Adinan Maning today.
"With seven million customers we have from the bank, we will try to progress and get the best out of it," he told reporters after the launch of BSN's wealth management solutions by Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Dr Awang Adek Hussin here.
Presently, the bank's wealth management products and services cover wealth protection, wealth accumulation and will writing.
They include five takaful and six insurance products which are available at all BSN branches.
"Some of our insurance products, the premium can go as low as RM50 to cover education, death, accident and so on," Adinan said.
Meanwhile, Awang Adek said the launch of BSN wealth management services would allow more Malaysians to manage their money more efficiently and raise public awareness about financial planning and wealth management.
"Wealth management used to be something for the rich. But now, this is becoming more and more relevant to almost everybody. "It will be a big thing in the future. So, the earlier we get the common Malaysians to be aware and to involve in this the better," he said. - Bernama
