Robbers gatecrash futsal game
SUBANG JAYA: A fun game of futsal among eight friends became a nightmare when four men armed with parangs intruded into the court and threatened to harm them.
The robbers took the victims' phones and RM800 in cash, then fled in one of the players' car.
Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Zainal Rashid Abu Bakar said the futsal players were in the middle of their game at the USJ2 court at 5am on Sunday when the robbers gatecrashed.
“They demanded all the money and belongings from the men and threatened to hurt them if they did not comply,” he told The Star yesterday.
The police have taken statements from the players and are tracking down the suspects. No arrest has been made.
The case has been classified as armed robbery under Section 395 of the Penal Code.
