Description
Architect: William Le Baron Jenney

Built in 1885 as a 10 storey building, 42.1 meters (138 feet), two floors were added in 1890. It was later demolished in 1931 to permit construction of the LaSalle National Bank Building (aka Field Building).

Often cited as the first skyscraper because it used steel framing (in combination with load bearing masonry) to produce a more efficient and economical building design.
