Charlie Sheen's character to be killed off in 'Men'

Charlie Sheen's character in 'Two and a Half Men' is to be killed off.

The troubled actor was fired from the sitcom and replaced by Ashton Kutcher after his eccentric behaviour and feuds with creator Chuck Lorre, who has now decided Charlie Harper dies off screen, meaning the star can never return to the program.

According to gossip website TMZ, Charlie's brother Alan and nephew Jake will learn "Charlie Harper has bit the dust" as "TV screens turn dark for just a minute or two".

Sheen was axed from the popular show earlier this year and it was later revealed 'Punk'd' star Ashton would replace him at the lead star of the show, although playing a different character.

After landing a role in the sitcom -- where he will work with co-stars Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones -- Ashton claimed he felt like he had "won the lottery".

He said: "I've never probably in my 13 years in show business received more phone calls and emails from people congratulating me on this job.

"You'd almost think I won the lottery or something, which I kind of did. I've got the best job in showbusiness, and I am ecstatic about that."

While there's no chance of him returning to 'Two and a Half Men', Sheen is set to sign a deal for his TV comeback this week in a completely new show created "for him".

A source close to the negotiations said: "It's a show created with him and for him.

"The deal should get signed by tomorrow, but with lawyers you never know. No later than Friday."

They should bring Ashton in as Charlie's surprise son from a previous relationship, hehe. Like father, like son. In the show anyway. Why did they never consider hiring Neil Patrick Harris to replace Charlie is beyond me? He's a great comedic actor and already plays a somewhat similar role on "How I met your mother".

A large aspect of the interest in Charlie Sheen's character in Two & a Half Men was how it mimic'd the charismatic actor's real life shenanigans with booze, drugs & women. What's Ashton Kutchner's character going to do - sit Twittering all day in a vain attempt to keep his name in the media? They've let go of the watermelon...and replaced it with a grape.

I like Charlie on the SHOW. He was the only reason i watched that show. But I also grew up watching That's 70's Show and Ashton was good in that. It might work out well for the show.

I hope Ashton, doesn't over act, like he usually does. I've never been fond of him in any show, he's too hyper. It will be interesting to see if this show survives.

If there was no chance in coming back, killing off would be the most likely scenario. At worse, they can do a "Bobby" (re: Dallas TV show) .@Jack: I don't think you can compare Seinfeld with Sheen. Sheen's character [like in real life] is a doofus. Kutcher is also a doofus. The show will continue for at least the year.

I wonder if Chuck Lorre will make Charlie Sheens' character die from an OD off screen?

The popularity of 'Two and a Half Men' highlights the dumbed-down nature of mainstream network audiences and comes across as a sitcom for mental midgets. Charlie Sheen is a certified celebrity coconut with the riches to endure his own stupidity and delusions of grandeur. Bury him (his character, that is). I'll leave my sentiments regarding that smug, smarmy, and Ashton Kutcher, for another time.

Why even bother giving Sheen's character this attention? All it does is bring up his horrible behaviour and addictions once again. Leave it be and let the talented cast be showcased for who they are.

The entire, indecent, garbage of a show should have been killed off before it ever got on the air.

Charlie Sheen is a spoiled brat who needs a good swift kick in the a**. The jerk makes more in one episode then most people make in a lifetime, he should be blackballed from ever being in a movie or sitcom again.

I don't know that I'd say Sheen's character couldn't return...I could see them writing Charlie's ghost into the show. Either way, I think they've guaranteed BIG ratings for the first show of the season, as everyone will want to see how this is carried out.

Sheen is a spoiled brat he makes in one episode what it takes a lifetime for some people to make. Hollywood should blackball him.

This is like having Seinfeld continue without Jerry Seinfeld. Or X-Files without Davide Duchovney. For years, Two and Half Men was the most watched comedy on television - because of Charlie Sheen.Have some pride, be classy, and just end the show. What a joke.
