Atlanta Dream

Atlanta's WNBA franchise

The Atlanta Dream of the WNBA began play in 2008. The young franchise got off to a rough start going 4-30 in its inaugural season.

Coached by Marynell Meadors, the Dream advanced to the playoffs for two consecutive seasons in 2009 and 2010 - reaching the WNBA Finals in its third season in 2010.

In 2009, Meadors was named WNBA Coach of the Year.

The Dream play at Philips Arena and are owned by Kathy Betty, who became the managing partner of the franchise in 2009. In early 2011, philanthropist Mary Brock and business executive Kelly Loeffler put in a total of $1 million to buy ownership stakes in the team.
