The Tigers' busy week in the transfer market continues with the signing of midfielder Paul McKenna.
33-year-old McKenna arrives on a free transfer from Nottingham Forest and becomes the Tigers' third signing in as many days following the arrival of Jack Hobbs and Dele Adebola.
McKenna, who has signed a deal until 2013, has been linked with a move to the KC Stadium for much of the summer and now that the move has been completed, he is relishing the new challenge.
"This is a great opportunity for me to make a new start at a massive club," said McKenna.
"I've played against Hull City in the past and I know that the stadium and support here is absolutely fantastic.
"I know the manager and his staff and when I sat down and spoke with them I knew straight away that this was where I wanted to come. Now I just can't wait to get my teeth into pre-season as I'm really excited about the coming season with this club."
Born in Lancashire, McKenna began his career with Preston North End and he went on to become club captain during 12 years of loyal service with the first team. He left Deepdale in 2009 having made 470 appearances and scored 32 goals.
His destination after Deepdale was Nottingham Forest and McKenna's impact was such that he was amongst the front-runners for the club's player of the year award in his first season. His leadership qualities were evident once again last season as he was made captain at the City Ground and his 35 appearances helped the club reach the Championship play-offs.
