Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today the Coyotes have re-signed forward Radim Vrbata to a multi-year contract. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"We are very pleased to re-sign Radim to a multi-year contract," said Maloney. "Radim is an important player for us and fits in well with our group. He will be counted on to contribute offensively for us."

The 6-foot-1, 197 pound Vrbata recorded 19-29-48 and 20 penalty minutes (PIM) in 79 games with the Coyotes this past season. His 29 assists tied his career-high he set back in 2007-08, his first season with Phoenix. He finished the 2010-11 season second on the team in power play goals (10), tied for second in goals (19) and fourth in scoring.

Vrbata appeared in all four of the Coyotes' Western Conference Quarter-final playoff games against Detroit, recording 2-3-5.

Over his nine year career, the 30-year-old native of Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic has played in 601 career NHL games, recording 148-175-323 and 170 PIM with Phoenix, the Tampa Bay Lightning, Chicago Blackhawks, Carolina Hurricanes and the Colorado Avalanche.

Vrbata was originally drafted by the Colorado Avalanche in the seventh round (212th overall) in the 1999 Entry Draft.
