Best of New York

The Best of New York Awards program salutes IT professionals and projects in New York state and local government organizations and educational institutions at the annual "GTC" (Government Technology Conference) East event. All government and educational organizations in New York are invited to submit nominations in May - June. The awards are presented at the event held each September.

  Best of New York 2010 Winners Announced

New York Government Leaders, Agencies, Awarded for IT Vision and Excellence

Top technology leaders and teams from state agencies and local governments were selected by the Center for Digital Government, a division of e.Republic, to be the recipients of its esteemed Best of New York awards. The annual awards recognize contributions, best practices, and work of distinction in the information technology arena.

This year’s awards also included agency-selected winners in the Excellence in IT Operations, Support and Service category. All award recipients were honored by the Center at a formal awards ceremony during the GTC East: The New York Digital Government Summit 2010 event on September 22.

“This year’s Best of New York award winners show New York agencies are committed to bringing   transparency and openness in government,”  said Cathilea Robinett, executive vice president of the Center. “These websites and Web-based tools provide important quality improvements in services as well as cost savings which are vital in today’s tight economy and tight budgets. Congratulations to the winners of this year’s awards!” 

Dr. Melodie Mayberry-Stewart, chief information officer and director of the Office for Technology for the state of New York said, “Congratulations to all of the 2010 Best of New York awardees! The people and projects honored represent the best of the best in New York’s IT enterprise.  New York is proud of its public sector IT workforce and is grateful for the dedication, hard work, and innovative contributions they make every day to leverage information technology to deliver superior government services to our citizens and businesses.”
