Davnet, the US subsidiary of Davnet Limited, has entered a multi-year agreement with FiberNet Telecom that will give the company virtually unlimited last-mile bandwidth to serve its commercial customers.
Under the agreement, Davnet will significantly increase its service area in the United States by gaining access to as many as 50 commercial office properties in FiberNet’s portfolio, including New York’s landmark Chrysler Centre and the Chicago Board of Trade building, according to Davnet North America operations coo, Jim Shirah.
“Davnet’s expertise in providing business customers with end-to-end communication solutions is complimented by working with partners like FiberNet,” Shirah said.
“Our access to new customers enables us to aggregate and then distribute high-speed connectivity for deploying value-added services, such as Internet, data, voice and video”.
The agreement involves Davnet using FiberNet’s In-Building Networks (FIN’s), a carrier and technology neutral optical infrastructure that connects to every floor of the buildings, to deliver its services.
Davnet operates an IP-based network that enables commercial tenants to utilise leading edge, scalable broadband and value-added services through a single high-speed Ethernet socket, the company said.
