A tornado ripped roofs off buildings, damaged docks, sank boats and toppled trees at Lake Metigoshe Monday afternoon.
The twister touched down near the tiny lake just west of Turtle Mountain Provincial Park on Monday afternoon at around 2:30. A Tornado Warning was issued for about an hour.
RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Line Karpish says there is extensive damage to the area, but no reports of injuries.
In an interview with CTV News, Mike Morrisson from the Turtle Mountain Resort said there are roof tops missing, and there isn't a boat or dock left on the west shore of the lake. He said there are about two dozen docks that have been damaged.
RCMP called in the twister to Environment Canada after someone in the area had spotted it and called police.
