It’s already over?! But I was just getting started! All of the shows at the Spring/Summer 2010 Fashion Week in NYC were so luxe, unbelievably stunning and as chic as you would expect. The celebs were in full force, and Bryant Park definitely had a little extra energy in the air—possibly a lingering reminder of what a great time everyone had at Fashion’s Night Out.
After seeing so many star-studded, model-icious shows, it’s almost impossible to pick my favorite collections…but a girl can try! Here are five shows that blew the roof of the tents for very different reasons:
1. Michael Kors: Because the exotic collection was fierce! And instead of sending the ultra fabulous models out one by one, the rebel designer sent them all at once, which raised the eyebrows of editors and celebs alike. Way to keep it interesting…
2. Oscar de la Renta: Because of this ah-mazing, cantaloupe, Mad Men chic, totally divine dress (and yes, the rest of the collection, too). Must. Have. It. All.
3.1 Phillip Lim: Because Lim’s show was a total feast of color! The red runway and crimson outfits created a super hot look, and got the temperatures in the front row up a few degrees. The clean cuts and chic accessories looked totally wearable, and the show was the talk of the tent.
4. Anna Sui: Because prep chic has never looked better. Now that Anna Sui’s cultivated cuteness is going to be available to all through her newly launched Target line, everyone was paying special attention to her runway creations. Verdict? I’m so into a Gossip Girl makeover.
5. Charlotte Ronson: Because we all have a little bit of tough in us! Charlotte’s fab fashions for spring threw the girly look to the spring breeze, yet still managed to retain some femininity. Definitely what to wear when you mean business.
I just can’t wait to see how these runway looks translate into street chic trends next year. My predictions? Symmetry, color blocks, mod flashbacks, lace, eclectic accessories and fun!
