The Selection Comittee

I've covered mobile gaming for IGN since early 2003, back when games on the cellphone were mocked, scorned... but still made real money. I had fun covering mobile; it was a fresh horizon with a huge burst of excitement and energy, sadly followed by stagnation. But when Apple introduced the iPhone 3G and App Store in the summer of 2008, I knew my world was going to change. I just didn't know the entire world would change with it. It's fun to be a part of the revolution, because that's precisely what the iPhone is. That's not hyperbole or me swearing fealty to Overlord Jobs. That's a simple fact, and there are well over six billion app downloads (200 every second) to back me up. And now when I talk to other folks about what platform I cover for IGN, I no longer use a winking, apologetic tone. I say "the iPhone" and I say it with pride.
