I love Flash Gordon, and I see your point. I just meant aesthetically, the game draws from Portal. I figured people would be quick to point it out, if I neglected it.
It definitely was a mistake. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, we need more commenters like you guys around here!! The last thing I would want to do is drive you away!
AH! I was trying to promote, not demote!! Apologies. Faulty clicking...
Definitely check out the full version. I spent over an hour on it, and didn't 100% it. Once you're done with the story a bunch of challenge levels open up.
They did, but this one is inspired directly by Portal 2--just look at the little robot you play as, and then the robots from co-op in Portal 2. Plus the laser puzzles lean pretty heavily on Portal puzzles. Sometimes indie games are just ripoff versions of mainstream games (like a minecraft knock-off that I also tried out...) but this one is genuinely fun. That's all I meant by "clearly inspired".
It's all about facilitating discussion. Thanks for taking part!
I don't really like watching sports on TV, either, I would much rather watch them live. If I'm going to watch people play video games, I would prefer it be because I'm playing with friends and have a chance to jump in when someone dies, or watching people play at a con, where all the "cheesy" things that Treacy is complaining about are also going on. The point is that this guy is complaining about a problem that doesn't exist--he's saying that being a pro gamer is harder than ever, even though a wider variety of companies (beyond the companies who are providing the gaming rigs and actual games) are signing on to sponsor gamers, and blaming people who aren't watching tournaments for this supposed decline. He's complaining even though he's getting paid for a skill that he has chosen to work hard at, and is probably better at than the average person, and making more than minimum wage to do so.
You should have seen my first playthrough. It was riddled with curses every time something jumped out at me. It's awesome.
Congraaaaaaatulations!

"The Death of Socrates" is going to be our official July image. Photoshop video game ideas on top of this image and then submit the new image to the top of this forum. (Not in this thread, but at [kotaku.com]) Please use the version of the painting here in my comment, open it up in a new tab, and 'shop away! Don't forget to make it 640x360 in size before submitting.
