Tickets available for sought-after matches
LOC

Football fans remain passionately interested and enthusiastic about the forthcoming FIFA Women’s World Cup 2011™. Due to the release of previously reserved blocks of tickets, the finalising of stadium layout plans, and returns from previous sales phases, further tickets are now available to purchase. The total number of match tickets on general sale has thus increased from 800,000 to 900,000. Some 620,000 tickets have been sold so far, or approximately 70 per cent of the total available for general sale.

With exactly a month to go until the tournament, the restructuring of the previously reserved blocks means tickets are also back on sale for the most sought-after matches, including some 2,000 tickets for the opening match at the Berlin Olympic stadium between Germany and Canada on 26 June, 3,000 for the final in Frankfurt, and 4,000 for the semi-final on the same ground. Other smaller blocks of tickets are also available again for previously sold-out matches such as Germany’s group fixtures and the games in Sinsheim. The newly-released tickets go on sale at 9 am CET on 26 May 2011, and may be purchased online at www.FIFA.com/deutschland2011, or via the ticketing hotline: +49 1805 / 06 2011 (€0.14 per minute from German fixed lines, mobile prices may vary).

"With a month still to go until the big kick-off, the latest excellent sales figures  make me extremely optimistic that we’ll have a genuinely magnificent setting for the 32 matches at the Women’s World Cup 2011. The good news for the fans is a new and realistic opportunity to lay hands on tickets for the most sought-after games," commented OC President Steffi Jones.
