Jane Fonda: I want to star in ‘Barbarella’ sequel

Barbarella
Two-time Oscar winner Jane Fonda is back in exercise videos, but she wants to get even more physical — the 73-year-old actress said she would pounce on the chance to return to the lusty universe of “Barbarella,” the 1968 sci-fi adventure that became a cult classic. “I have a dream – to do a sequel to ‘Barbarella,’” Fonda said. “Not a remake, a sequel! Look, I get shtupped by a blind angel, OK? Let’s just take it from there.” In the original film, Barbarella was bedded by a number of aliens — including a winged fellow who looked quite angel-like and lived in a bird nest — and was also threatened with death inside an orgasm machine. The movie, made in Europe and directed by Fonda’s then-husband, Roger Vadim, was called the “kinkiest film of the year” by Penthouse when the ...

‘The Incredible Hulk XXX: A Porn Parody’: A set visit with the big guy

Lee Stone gets painted green for his Hulk performance. (Brian van der Brug / Los Angeles Times)
It’s noon on a Wednesday and inside a Canoga Park soundstage, the latest film to star Marvel Comics’ storied character the Hulk is hours behind schedule. Crucial sets still aren’t finished – including the all-important gamma ray chamber — there’s an unforeseen problem with the Hulk’s makeup and the production needs to be out of the space by the following day. Despite these complications, producer Shylar Cobi takes it all in stride. “Typical porno,” he says with a shrug. No, this isn’t a companion project to director Louis Leterrier’s “The Incredible Hulk” or Joss Whedon’s upcoming “Avengers,” this is “The Incredible Hulk XXX: A Porn Parody,” the latest production from the SuperXXXHeroes brand of comic-book-related porn parodies produced by adult-video powerhouse Vivid Entertainment. Instead of looking to the recent films starring Eric Bana and Ed Norton, “Hulk XXX” draws its inspiration ...

‘Archer’: The sexed-up spy show returns Thursday night on FX

archer
Michael Giltz checks in with a feature on “Archer,” the ribald FX spy show that might just as well be called “James Bondage.” Start with the unflappable cool of Matt Helm, add the rapid-fire dialogue of “Moonlighting,” mix in enough raunchy sex to make even the cast of MTV’s “Skins” blush and you’ve got “Archer,” the animated comedy that begins its second season Thursday at 10 p.m. on FX. Emmy-nominated for the voice work of lead actor H. Jon Benjamin, Archer sprang from the mind of creator Adam Reed (“Sealab 2021” and “Frisky Dingo“) who has given us a series about a spy, Sterling Archer, who pioneered the tactical turtleneck, repeatedly shoots co-workers when they get on his nerves, sleeps with his mom’s secretary but refuses to remember her name (in retaliation, she keeps changing it) and says things like, “Sure ...

COMIC-CON 2010: Jim Mahfood’s visual mash-up of sex, pot, punk and funk

COMIC-CON 2010: JULY 24-29 The now-familiar complaint at Comic-Con International is that the event has become too much about movie stars and not enough about comic-book creators but, on closer inspection, there’s a new wrinkle at the massive San Diego expo: In-demand comic-book creators are getting the star treatment themselves and not just by their loyal readers. Consider, for instance, the rock-star schedule of comic book artist Jim Mahfood, a.k.a. Food One: On Saturday, he’ll be signing oversize prints from upcoming comic book “Marijuanaman,” along with his collaborator Ziggy Marley (yes, that Ziggy Marley) and that night he will be “freestyling” live art at the Soda Bar, flinging paint onto blank canvases as enthusiasts watch on. And, in case you’re holding on to that old mental image of a comic book illustrator as a bespectacled shut-in, you should know that Mahfood’s latest hobby is drawing his tough, street-chic ...
