Carla Kama is a pioneering choreographer whose work has been seen in all mediums of entertainment. Her signature style is a mixture of high energy, in-your-face movements and traditional jazz dance. Constantly pushing the envelope with new, innovative moves, she continuously raises the bar for those who imitate her style. She has distinguished herself amongst her peers and her creations have been seen in the US, Europe and Asia. Currently, Carla is busy producing, directing, and choreographing her latest creation, STRUTTER - the Femme Fatale Cabaret, an action-packed stage show that incorporates the best of music and dance with the energy of a live concert event, Broadway theater experience, and Las Vegas dance spectacular.

One of Carla's first choreography endeavors was for the NPG Dance Company under the direction of Prince and then wife, Mayte. It's premiere production, a three-act creation titled "Around the World in a Day", was a chronological excursion through the various eras of Prince's music. Carla's transition into European venues began with her work on the California Dream Men, produced by Wolfgang Bocksch. The tour opened to a full house at the world famous Folies Bergere in Paris and was the first male act in history to grace its stage. With the success of this tour, Wolfgang enlisted Carla to choreograph for Dutch illusionist, Hans Klok. Then teaming her with U.K. director David Gilmore, she renovated the choreography for the musical Grease. That production is still playing to sold out crowds throughout Europe and has had rave reviews over the past five years. She has also lent her choreographic talents to the European touring production of HAIR 'The Musical'.

Back in the U.S., Carla started work on the film "The Debtors", directed by Evi Quaid. Working with Randy Quaid, Michael Caine and Catherine McCormack, Carla recreated the Elvis-Ann Margaret musical number "Come On Everybody" from the classic film "Viva Las Vegas". During the filming, she also worked with actor, Udo Kier and German rock band, Rammstein. Soon after completing this project, Carla began choreographing the dance bumpers for Jimmy and Doug's Farmclub.com, a television show featuring performances by some of today's hottest musical acts.

Carla's talent then led her to Las Vegas. Under the supervision of famed director/producer Richard Jay-Alexander and director Jamie King, she is credited with the musical staging and sizzling dance work showcased in Mandalay Bay's STORM, a musical journey of human emotion expressed through the forces of nature.

In 2003, the premiere performance of Strutter at The Key Club in Los Angeles was attended by many of Hollywood's notables. Carla's creativity caught the eye of Perry Farrell of Jane's Addiction who enlisted her to choreograph the dance sequences for the band's dancers, The Lolla Girls, for the 2003 Lollapalooza summer festival as well as appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Soon after, Carla was commissioned to choreograph the sexy burlesque scenes for actress Lauren Woodland on The Young and the Restless. Her work in television also includes choreography for HBO's Carnivale. Carla has created dance sequences for projects with Carmen Electra, Paulina Rubio, Chayanne, Gerardo, and The Dandy Warhols. She has also choreographed dance shows at many corporate events for Skechers, Adidas, Reebok, Bongo Jeans, Serious Clothing, Sun Microsystems, Platinum Guild International, Toyota, and the Museum of Contemporary Art.

An accomplished dancer, Carla began her professional career at the age of 15 in Los Angeles. She trained with dance masters, Luigi, Joe Tremaine, and Gus Giordano. At 19, Carla was picked out of over 1000 hopefuls to be the sixth member of the original "Fly Girls" on the Emmy-winning television series In Living Color. She is also credited with being a founding member and associate choreographer for The Pussycat Dolls at Johnny Depp's Viper Room in Los Angeles. Her dance credits also include The Tracey Ullman Show, Tank Girl, The Wonderful Ice Cream Suit, Vanity Fair with Mike Myers, General Hospital with Ricky Martin, Jimmy & Doug's Farmclub.com, Prince's late night cabaret 'Erotic City', Baywatch, Friends, and tours with Adidas, Reebok, Herbalife, Sebastian, Gerardo, Stacey Q and the NPG Dance Company. She has performed with No Doubt, the Smashing Pumpkins, Prince, Mayte, Carmen Electra, Paula Abdul, Rita Moreno, and Robbie Williams.

Carla's passion for various types of music and dance is evident in all of her undertakings and her ability to combine old style with mainstream appeals to a wide audience. In the future, she looks forward to further defining her creative visions for the Broadway stage, television programs and feature films.
