  • The Law School Welcomes Turkish Students to the Washington Seminar Program

    July 15 marks the beginning of the 2011 Yeditepe Washington Seminar Program.  The law school has annually welcomed Turkish students since 2006 from our partner institution, Yeditepe University in Istanbul.  This summer, 25 students will be participating in a three week program introducing them to common law contracts and torts. 

  • Training Course on Inter-American Human Rights Systems Takes Place July 18-22

    American University Washington College of Law, in collaboration with the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) and the Costa Rican-based Inter-American Institute of Human Rights (IIDH), has organized the First Annual Training Course on the Inter-American Human Rights System, July 18-22, 2011. This year's course features 26 participants from 13 countries -- Argentina, Bolivia, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, and Venezuela.   • Boren Fellow Studies Brazil's Economic Boom

    Averell Sutton, JD/MBA '13, received a Boren Fellowship to study in São Paulo this summer. The prestigious award provides up to $30,000 to U.S. graduate students who add a less commonly taught language component to their area of study.
