Wake Forest University Master Teacher Fellows (MTF) Program
The Master Teacher Fellows Program is intended for academically talented and professionally committed students who have a baccalaureate degree and little or no prior course work in teacher education. The program is offered in the following disciplines: English, mathematics, science (chemistry, biology, or physics), social studies, and foreign language (French or Spanish). During an intense fifteen-month period of study and field experience, Fellows engage in graduate course work in the discipline, complete a research project, rotate through four Master Teachers' classroom in the public schools, take part in an intensive six-week block of pedagogical courses and teach in the local school under the guidance of one of the Master Teachers.
Twenty-four Master Teacher Fellows are selected to enter the program each year. All Fellows are awarded full scholarships which cover complete tuition costs for the entire fifteen-month period. In addition, twenty Master Teacher Fellows will receive $4000 stipends and four Minority Master Teacher Fellows will be awarded $8000 stipends.
