It is our philosophy that a strong extra-curricular programme provides a healthy balance to our academic work. In fact strong participation in extra-curricular activities has been statistically proven to result in better academic performance as a consequence of acquiring many key skills and providing self confidence. We provide a wide array of such activities in our programme, described by the ISI Inspectorate as "Excellent". In the junior years we encourage youngsters to participate as widely as possible while students may specialise later in their school career. For clear safety reasons some activities are not available until pupils are older. We report on participation in these activities in our school reports and there is no question that they add strength to personal statements and CV's later in life. Most of all they contribute to Kirkham Grammar School being a busy and happy school.
CCF The school has a strong Combined Cadet Force, with Army and Air Force Sections. The army is affiliated to the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment.
Clubs and Societies Here is a list and description of the clubs and societies active within the school.
