The Boarding House at Kirkham Grammar School was inspected by Ofsted in February 2010 and in the report received five from the six gradings at ’Outstanding’. The Ofsted Inspectors assessed the school’s provision under the Every Child Matters Agenda and included all boarders’ experiences both within the House and within the school. Their judgments were based on questionnaires and discussions with pupils and staff over a three day period. Headmaster, Douglas Walker was delighted with the outcome "We are pleased that once again our boarding provision has gained such wide ranging accolades. The inspection regime becomes ever more rigorous and regulatory, so it is even more pleasing to gain this level of recognition. As a school, however, we have never rested on our laurels and we will continue to strive for improvement in all aspects of boarding life. Great credit is due to both Mr & Mrs Marmion and the whole of the boarding team".
