Christmas dinner @ Fresh Unique Seafood 23 restaurant

Malaysia is a multi-cultural nation. We have holidays on Eid, Chinese New Year, Diwali and Christmas etc. The festivities are often beyond religious boundaries; there are parties everywhere, and people hanging out in celebratory mood.

Me and my family had a reunion dinner on Christmas night, Chinese style, at Fresh Unique Seafood 23 restaurant in Petaling Jaya…

Kin Shui Tei Japanese Restaurant, Tropicana, PJ

Lunch at Kin Shui Tei Japanese Restaurant at Tropicana Golf & Country Resort last Sunday. First heard about the restaurant from my ex Japanese boss years ago, who recommended the place for its authentic Japanese cuisine…

Somehow it took me years to make my maiden visit, which turned out to be one of the best Japanese meals I’ve ever had; guess it’s better late than never…

Cheow Sang Restaurant, SS2, Petaling Jaya

Cheow Sang was one of my most frequented restaurants in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, before I moved to Bukit Jalil in Sept 2007. It’s almost a year since I dined here prior to my visit last Saturday.

The restaurant is popular for its Bak Kut Teh, spicy fish head and herbal chicken etc. Bak Kut Teh (literally ‘meat bone tea’) is a popular delicacy in Malaysia and Singapore. It’s primarily a thick herbal soup with pork, innards and ribs.

Cheow Sang’s BKT is just ok to be frank… what I like is their spicy fish head (pic) instead, which is cooked with fermented soy beans and fresh chillies. Not too spicy, but enough to make people sweating on their forehead… and its fish head (which was cut into cubes) is almost always fresh.

The bill was RM65 (~USD18) for three person.
