I wonder how many people are going to be affected by this over the next several years.
Many people will be effected before everyone realizes what has happened. many do not want to hear that they may have been exposed or that their symptoms are related to the oil spill. The individuals who have no symptoms think they are either safe or that we who are sick are actually mentally ill not physically ill. One of my greatest fears is that people will deny they could have been effected and then in 5 years or even ten years when they have cancer or their child who they assumed was fine 10 years ago can not have children with their spouse they will fail to see the connection or it will be to late for them to get help from BP because they took 5000 and ran! God help us and those who are intent to keep their heads in the sand. The C130 was flying 4 days last week in the Destin/Miramar Beach area so this is not over. I know they were spraying because my body told me so!!!
It is not possible to predict how many will get affected but yeah it is definite that it will affect a large number of population as it have serious symptoms.

Four schools get $25M for oil spill health studies

Studies at four Gulf Coast universities will focus on continuing fear that last year’s oil spill is making people sick, especially if they eat lots of fish.
All four will look at people’s mental and physical health over the next five years. Three will also look for oil-related chemicals in fish landed by people whose catch makes up a big part of their own food.
The National Institutes of Health are providing $25 million to look for lingering results of the spill, which released more than 200 million gallons of oil over five months into the Gulf.
Tulane University’s medical school is getting $6.5 million; LSU’s medical school $3.5 million, the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston $7.8 million and the University of Florida at Gainesville about $7 million.
