Zonemedia is to launch Zone Romancica.
The channel will go on air on 3 September on Sky in EPG slot 146. It will broadcast between 8am and 3am.

The channel will be aimed firmly at women with a diet of soaps, drama and feature films.

Commenting on the launch, Kathy Fairburn, head of programming and acquisitions at Zonemedia, said: "We believe Zone Romantica is a long-overdue addition to the TV landscape in the UK, offering a mix of good escapist fun and emotionally charged drama. The channel provides the perfect home for long-running series and feature films tailor-made to appeal to women, and we are confident it will garner the same following in the UK as it has throughout Europe and the rest of the world."

Zonemedia, owned by global media group Chellomedia, operates Zone Horror, Zone Reality and Extreme Sports Channel plus Zone Fantasy which currently does not broadcast in the UK. The company has a presence in 125 countries across the world.
