Welcome to the homepage of DeadBase, a small press specializing in books about the Grateful Dead. Over fourteen years we have published seventeen titles. While the centerpiece of our editions is the most definitive Dead setlist catalog available, there is much, much more to these indispensable resources for Deadheads. We are constantly designing new features and refining familiar ones. From fact to opinion, from music to math, our quest is to map a contemporary mystical phenomenon.
Who knows what tomorrow will bring? Suggestions, contributions, and assistance for this site are most welcome.
DeadBase is pleased to announce its new virtual store: DeadBasics. Featuring fine tie-dye shirts from Liquid Blue, and several Grateful Dead videos (no bootlegs), DeadBasics offers free shipping for all domestic orders.
We have (finally) added frames to this site to make it easier to navigate. As some people use browsers which do not support frames and others are morally opposed to them, we will continue to support a single frame version of this site (the page you are looking at now). Let us know what you think!
10/22/98 - The Deadlinks page has finally been updated, including a new section for live bands. I hope to make future additions on a more timely basis.
DeadBase X has finally arrived from the printers at DeadBase's corporate headquarters in beautiful Cornish, NH. I am exhausted after having unloaded and stacked 21,000 lbs. of DeadBase. Still I will be burning lots of midnight oil shipping the 3,000 copies already spoken for. I hope to be caught up by Thursday of next week, ensuring that (almost?) all those orders going to US destinations will arrive before Christmas. I will get to future orders as quickly as possible, but with the backlog cannot guarantee them in time for the holidays.
On first glance, I am very happy with the finished product. I look forward to checking it out in greater detail over the next few days. I would be very interested in any observations about the book, and on the condition in which it arrived.
The DeadBase Forum is our version of a bulletin board. We are soliciting your thoughts
on a variety of subjects. Periodically we will award free personalized
copies of our books to randomly selected Forum contributors. The
first selection has just taken place.
Help On The Way - DeadBase is the result of countless hours of hard work. We would welcome any assistance you can offer to this continuing project. Here are some suggestions (updated 10/27/97).
If you would like to be included on our e-mailing list for information about new publications, surveys, and other DeadBase-related announcements, you can either click on the link below, or you can e-mail us with "subscribe" in the subject line.
The core of DeadBase is now available online. Here are complete set lists from the 1990's, with more to come. A search engine will soon be in place to you navigate this essential info. Suggestions and assistance are welcome.
Our First Electronic Survey has been compiled. Thank you to those who participated. We have awarded free personalized copies of DeadBase, Jr. to five randomly selected respondents, though only four were claimed.
