SOMALIA: Office of Prime Minister declares national day of mourning

MOGADISHU (RBC) Somalia transitional federal cabinet announced national day of mourning on Saturday after the murdering of the interior minister Abdishakur Sheikh Hassan Farah in his home, RBC Radio reports.
In a press release issued today by the office of Somalia prime minister Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed said that “today of June 11 is a national day of mourning” following the death of the interior minister.
“The death of any person is just obliged and as every one should die at the end, so we hereby to convey our deepest condolense to the family of the deceased minister, our beloved colleague and brother Mr. Abdishakur Sheikh Hassan.” The statement added.
The killing of the minister happened during two days of demonstrations in Somalia capital which the people protested against a deal signed by president Sheikh Sharif and the speaker of the parliament Sharif Hassan Sheikh Adam in Ugandan capital this week.
