Here's What's Happening In Steven's World

It's Friday but sadly there is no new Best of SURS tonight at midnight. Why? I have no idea but when it is on you'll be there! Or if not - thank heavens for DVRs right? I mean, am I right?

Steven On: The Silence of Jonah Matranga

Seven years ago I moved to New York City to work for Fuse, then called MuchMusicUSA. My first assignment was to cover the CMJ Music Marathon and interview a bunch of artists, some of those you may have heard of before - Boxcar Racer, the Used, Gary Lightbody (whom you may know from his band Snow Patrol), and Jonah Matranga.

Steven On: Opinions

I get on my elevator this morning (the elevator in the building I live in, mind you, I don't own an elevator, which would be rad) and a young lady gets on next me. Without looking over she says, "Sorry for my outfit."

The "outfit" in question was something nondescript; black autumn jacket, handbag, and pants rolled up slightly over sneakers.

I said, "What's wrong with it?" To which she replied, "Oh, got to get to work, you know." The elevator door opened and she left to start her day. I can only assume she was changing into "work" shoes or somesuch which is why the sneakers, but here's what bothered me.

Best of SURS Tonight - The Weez
