In fact, the World Meteorological Organization's hurricane committee has announced the retirement of the names Igor and Tomas because of the deaths and destruction they caused in 2010.
The lists of names for tropical storms and hurricanes are used every 6 years, unless they are retired, in which case they are replaced with a new name.
Replacing Igor and Tomas on this list, which will run again in 2016, are Ian and Tobias.
