The ASA is looking to recruit two Independent Board members for a two year period from October 2011. In particular, we are looking for people who have operated at Board level in a multi-stakeholder environment and who will have one or more of the following skill bases:
- Marketing and/or commercial experience in a digital environment
- Sports development and/or talent development
- Experience of working in health promotion and/or health sector
- Pool/Leisure Facility operation, possibly in a local authority.
Applications are invited from persons interested in becoming an independent (voting) member of the ASA Board. The selection process will require the successful candidate to be or become a member of the Amateur Swimming Association.
The roles include the responsibility for ensuring the Vision for Swimming and the ASA’s corporate objectives are fulfilled with a sound financial platform being maintained at all times. ASA Board Members are also responsible for monitoring and evaluating the work of the ASA Technical Committees, ensuring they are achieving the key performance indicators set out in the corporate plan.
The appointment of an Independent member is made by ASA Council from nominations made by a majority decision of the ASA Chairman and the Regional representatives of the ASA Board.
