We can officially confirm that 23 year-old midfield player Wayne Routledge has joined us this Thursday on loan from Aston Villa following our recent injury problems which now see Joe Ledley and Peter Whittingham out for a period of time.

Sidcup-born Wayne, a former England Youth and Under-21 International, has made seven appearances (six as substitute) for Villa this season in European, Carling Cup and Premiership matches, and was recently on their bench for their games against Slavia Prague and Middlesbrough.

Wayne was originally with Crystal Palace, joining them as a trainee and becoming a full professional, making 123 League and Cup appearances for them. He went to Tottenham for £2 million in July 2005, had 5 Premiership games for them and was on loan at Portsmouth and Fulham before a £1.25 million move to Villa on January 30th 2008. He will be with the Bluebirds for an initial two months.
