108 Terrible Character Portraits

This was a Kickstarter project I organized with artist Jeff Preston to create a bank of character portraits that could be used by anyone, for anything, as long as they cited the source.

  1. Great portraits and thanks for sharing them under CC. But it would really be helpful if you told us who holds the copyright on these portraits. Is it Jeff Preston, you, you both? That info would make it much easier to uphold the attribution part of the license.

  2. Jeff Preston holds the copyright to all the images. Full copyright information is also embedded in the EXIF data in the images.

  3. Thanks for the info! I actually didn’t think about checking the EXIF data.

  5. Thanks! Hey – do these include the one I’m getting in hard copy (with the description that may or may not include the bear). Thanks! – J.

  6. Yes, the one you are getting in hard copy should be included above. I’ll have a better sense for that after I get the thank you packs assembled.

  7. Sweet. We are very excited to use them in some of our current and future development! OpenD6 OGL FTW!
