The theatrical trailer for the book to film adaptation of Nancy Drew has hit the web. Poster image and Trailer links after the jump.
Teen detective Nancy Drew (played by Emma Roberts) accompanies her father on a business trip to Los Angeles, where she happens upon clues to a murder mystery involving a movie star. Based on the book series created in 1930 by Edward Stratemeyer, of which over 200 million books have been sold worldwide.
Dick writer/director Andrew Fleming should be ashamed of himself. The contemporary slant and pop music is nauseating. What's to differentiate Nancy Drew and the inspired cult CW television show Veronica Mars? Well for starters, Veronica Mars has big entertainment value. Snarky geek references and teen melodrama mixed with high school (now college) mystery. Nancy Drew looks like just another pre-teen movie, and that's sad. Because Nancy Drew could have been Veronica Mars: the movie with a supernatural twsit, but is instead - just like everything else.
