Later this year, the old is out to be replaced with the new as 68 sparkling cable cars including one festooned with Austrian Swarovski crystals will make their debut, making it the first in the world to do so. The VIP jeweled cabin of the cable car will have glass-enhanced crystal floor and black leather upholstery with embedded crystals, and will be equipped with a DVD player, a fridge and a high-end Bose sound system.

singapore-cable-car-2The revamp will start in August and is expected to be completed by the Q2 of next year complete with the rebranding as jewel rides. The luxurious cable car system is expected to attract 1.7 million riders, amazing news for luxury in Singapore where recession has become a byword.
