The Problem of the Week	The Problem of the Week's target audience is approximately 1300-1900 Elo.  The Archives contain every single Problem of the Week we have ever posted, listed both chronologically (best for tactical training) and by tactic (best for learning or brushing up on a new tactic.)

Peter's Problem World	Introducing the Art of Chess Composition, by Peter Wong of Sydney, Australia, FIDE Master of Chess Composition.  Since publishing his first chess problem at the age of 15, Peter has contributed his works to many of the world’s leading chess composition journals, including The Problemist, Die Schwalbe, Phénix, feenschach, and StrateGems. Many of his compositions have received tourney awards and prizes.
The Whites of Their Eyes	A fresh perspective on mastering tactics is offered by Andy Hortillosa.  Andy is currently the Webmaster and Senior Writer of  the US Military Chess website.  "Only a handful of chess authors truly understand the best method of mastering tactics.  Most authors believe, as evidenced by the books and software available in the market, that puzzle exercises and solving them are the best approach to learning tactics.  They could never be so wrong..."
Finales...y Temas	por ICCF GM José A. Copié.  Chessville is proud to welcome "Endings... and Themes" to augment our Spanish-language content.  This Argentine publication, widely distributed in PDF format and through many chess pages, offers us high quality articles and surprising studies we are sure will entertain our readers, while teaching them valuable endgame skills in the bargain.  Don't read Spanish?  ¡No problemo!  Finales... y Temas utilizes figurine algebraic notation (FAN).

Scholastic Chess Instruction	By Jim Mitch Ph.D., AKA Prof. Chester Nuhmentz.  These articles and downloadable PDF files contain ideas, suggestions, and resource material intended to facilitate scholastic chess instruction and chess club activities, including some basic tactical instruction materials

Tactical Exercises	These collections of tactics are from Fred Reinfeld's 1001 Winning Chess Sacrifices and Combinations.  (Our files do not contain any text or analysis -- only the bare positions and an indication of whether it is White or Black to move.)  The files are sorted by theme, and there is also a master collection which contains all 1001 positions, if you'd rather download it that way.
Chessbaselight Random Training	ChessBase Light can convert files to "Random Training" mode: it will present random games / positions from the file each time.  This is an extremely useful way to use the "1001 Winning Sacrifices and Combinations" file (above.)  Here's how you do it...
