New Chabon novel out today
By TIMES WIRES
Published May 1, 2007
Two years after its planned release, Pultizer Prize-winning author Michael Chabon's next novel, The Yiddish Policemen's Union: A Novel, is out today (HarperCollins 432 pages, $16.17 on Amazon). It was set to be released in 2005, the Wall Street Journal reports, but after editor and writer put their heads together, it changed from a 600-page, first-person novel, into the 432-page, third-person novel it is today. The WSJ also reports that the novel's initial print run is 200, 000 copies. If it's anything like The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, for which Chabon won the Pulitzer in 2001, there'll be no remainders. That and it's already No. 9 on Amazon.
