Bahrain grants recognition of South Sudan as an independent state

Bahrain would like to express its welcoming of Southern Sudan State as an independent sovereign state, an step, which comes as a result of the recognition of the Republic of Sudan and its admission of the result of the self- determination referendum that was conducted on January 9th, 201 and in respect to the Southerners choice to establish their own an independent state within 1956 territories and as they were on the date of the ratification of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement on 9 January 200.  In this regard, the Kingdom of  Bahrain hopes for a distinctive and especial relation that will join the Southern Sudan  and  the brotherly and neighboring  Republic of Sudan  in line with the historical bonds between the twin nations of both countries to be complementary and supportive to the relation with paternal other Arab World countries.

The Kingdom of Bahrain is hoping that Southern Sudan State will manage to achieve the aspirations of the whole Sudanese people through the settlement of all pending issues with the Republic of Sudan in peaceful and by negotiable means in the framework of neighborliness relations and cooperative spirit to bring a better future of prosperity, development, and peace to the people of both countries, as well as building strong, flourishing relations with their brothers in Northern Sudan to establish sustainable peace and security in the region to attain development and prosperity to the entire nations.  At the same time, we want to take this historical moment to pass our sincere congratulations to the people of the Southern Sudan for their newly born state.

The Kingdom of Bahrain is looking forward that the Southern Sudan Sate will take part, as a potential United Nation member state, in supporting the Arab, regional, and international legitimate causes to consolidate the Republic of Sudan government’s efforts on the Arab, Islamic, and International arena to materialize and realize the noble United Nation Convention objectives including the self-determination to the brotherly Palestinian people to enable them support and defend the Arabs issues. Further, the Kingdom of Bahrain is hoping to establish a diplomatic relation with Southern Sudan State in light of the international norms and diplomatic conventions applicable on such occasions to achieve mutual interests and the aforementioned goals.
