Rocklin, CA , October 2, 2008 – The Board of Directors of EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION (EMF) and the Board of Directors of the K-LOVE and Air 1 Foundation announced today, that EMF President, Mike Novak, has been promoted to the role of President and Chief Executive Officer of EMF and the K-LOVE and Air 1 Foundation effective October 1, 2008.
As President and CEO of EMF and the K-LOVE and Air 1 Foundation, Novak will focus on continuing to spearhead and implement strategic planning and major funding initiatives through his leadership team, growing the K-LOVE and Air 1 radio networks to meet future challenges created by the changing landscape of radio broadcasting.
Mike Novak is a seasoned 38-year broadcast leader who, since his promotion to president a year ago, has overseen the K-LOVE and Air 1 national networks of 271 FM stations and 340 FM translators in 46 states. Novak also has been a valued and vital member of the senior leadership team at EMF for the past 10 years. “I am humbled and honored that the Board and staff have the trust in me to lead EMF and the K-LOVE and Air 1 Foundation as President and CEO into the future,” stated Novak.
In a second but related announcement, the EMF and K-LOVE and Air 1 Foundation Board of Director’s accepted the resignation of Dick Jenkins, former CEO and founder of EMF Broadcast Networks. “I have no doubt that God wanted and used Dick to get K-LOVE and Air 1 to where it was when I was named president a year ago and that God used his skill sets over the past 22 years to impact thousands for Christ,” stated Novak. In a letter to the EMF staff Jenkins said, “I look back with pride on my past 22 years at EMF Broadcasting… This accomplishment would not have been possible without a great team of employees who shared a common vision…”
EMF Board Chairman Dan Antonelli stated, “The promotion of Novak reflects EMF’s dedication to innovation and will better facilitate the continued unprecedented growth of the K-LOVE and Air 1 radio networks. EMF Broadcasting continues to fine-tune its senior management staff to meet the changing needs of the organization brought about by the growing number of radio signals and the resulting increase in listeners.” Antonelli added, “With Mike Novak as President and CEO, the board is confident that EMF will continue to deliver the best in Christian music radio programming.”
