UCB Milk Sampling Results, Nuclear Engineering Department At UC Berkeley, September 27, 2011:
Pasteurized, homogenized milk obtained from a San Francisco Bay Area organic dairy
Best By Date of 08/22/2011:
- Cs134 @ 0.047 Becquerels/liter (Bq/L)
- Cs137 @ 0.052 Bq/L
Best By Date of 09/29/2011:
- Cs134 @ 0.080 Bq/L
- Cs137 @ 0.101 Bq/L
Above EPA’s Maximum Contaminant Level
“EPA lumps these gamma and beta emitters together under one collective MCL [Maximum Contaminant Level], so if you’re seeing cesium-137 in your milk or water, the MCL is 3.0 picocuries per liter; if you’re seeing iodine-131, the MCL is 3.0; if you’re seeing cesium-137 and iodine-131, the MCL is still 3.0.” -Forbes.com
The 9/29 milk sample contains a total of 0.181 Bq/L of radioactive cesium (4.9 picocuries per liter), or more than 160% of the EPA’s Maximum Contaminant Level.

I recently contacted the milk company I buy from. the following is their response. I asked about radiation in milk.
Hello Brian,
We received a response from our Quality Control manager regarding your inquiry.
His response:
The Pasteurized Milk Ordinance (PMO) required by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) applies to all milk (organic & conventional). Radiological assessments are routinely conducted on raw milk in all regions of the country. The testing was increased after the Fukajima incident as a proactive measure. The results are that no changes have been noted.

Detect the soil below your rain spout as well as your homes gutter. Also find an outdoor pool. public outdoor Bird bath, and any items that have been outside since march that have collected water (buckets) or such. Be sure if it is a liquid sample such as your household water that you place the liquid on a paper towel, so you will not have a false reading due to the water acting as a moderator. Also be sure in the pool to rub the towel on the bottom of the pool and or bucket.

Please be aware of the dimensions. Germany had a several thousand times stronger contamination than LA currently has.

Looking at the Polish data and the German (Bavarian) data post-Chernobyl, it seems there was a small increase in perinatal mortality from about 8/1000 live births to 9/1000 live births. Not sure how many grieving German mothers this actually translates to….
But you can see in figure 2** that this 12.5% increase in perinatal deaths was rather difficult to “see” amongst the noise of statistical variability. Any germa-speaking statiticans out there who can PROVE that the observed increase had less than 1/20 probability of occurring by chance?
If European perinatal mortality cannot be shown graphically to be more OBVIOUS than this thorough German study, then how are we to explain the alleged “35%” increase in perinatal mortality around Washington state (Seattle) in May/June 2011? Perhaps the research flaw lies in the fact that, for embryos and fetuses, it is really the total “strahlungen” that matter. i.e. how many alpha, beta and gamma rays from ALL the nuclides are hitting the emrbyo’s DNA? Why fuss so much about only cesium, when we know that embryos are exquisitely sensitive to all ionizing radiations?
** Abbildung 2 at http://umweltinstitut.org/radioaktivitat/tschernobyl-folgen/niedrigstrahlung/sauglingssterblichkeit-in-deutschland-originalstudie-76.html
Note Abbildungen 5 und 6 seem very odd indeed: why is the wavy trend line WAY above the point data in Abb. 5 1982-1984? If Abb 6 is correct and there really were four excess deaths (per 1000 births) in early 1987, this is nearly a 25% incease iin the mortality rate!!

I can’t help but saying something when I hear all this Obama bashing…do you really think he is in charge, that he has much of a say in the decisions that get made? I don’t. I think that as soon as he took office (just like anyone who would become president) he was informed about who was really in control, what decisions to make, etc. This is why he made the decisions he did about who to put incertain positions; I doubt he had much say in any of it…
If you would become president of the US, you would get the same ‘inauguration’, I’m sure…the president is just a pawn, don’t you realize that?
I am well aware of it, and I actually feel sorry for Obama. I am not so sure he wasn’t out to bring about change when he was elected, but it’s obvious to me that the PTB are in control and he has very little say in it.
Apart from a complete revolt by the president himself, I doubt that this will ever change…the PTB (globally) have an agenda, and they aren’t about to change course for some new president.

And he certainly has not disappointed those “really in control…”
My other disagreement is because of what we are seeing now with the #occupywallst movememt

More U.S. Department of Health and Human Services press releases
The development of five new drugs to treat injuries associated with acute radiation syndrome will move forward under contracts awarded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA).
Acute radiation syndrome is caused by exposure to high doses of damaging (ionizing) radiation. ARS includes injuries to multiple organs, hemorrhaging, infection, and suppression of the immune system’s ability to fight organisms that cause infection.

Organic producers, in the case of a polluter such as an adjoining non-organic farmer who allows spraydrift from pesticide to contaminate organic land, have recourse to the label which certifies their organic status. I saw this happen when I stayed on an organic sheep farm – help is a phone call away. However, this is something different, although my understanding is that the radionuclides can be ‘fingerprinted’ as from a unique source?
People who drink raw milk, as we do, would only drink ‘grass-fed’ raw milk because otherwise there would be no point, the milk would just be the same old dead white stuff. I can see radioactivity pushed now as a reason to eat non-organic, intensively reared, indoor animals because as with Nuclear Power, Intensive Farming is in trouble. Fukushima might just be the best thing that ever happened to it. I saw on ENENEWS in the early days, someone commenting here that they would be eating only battery eggs. Sorry but that is madness, eating an egg from an ill and stressed-out bird, kept alive with antibiotics in an enclosed environment which will be just as radioactive as the outside? Not to mention where do you think the poor hens pesticide-laden feed is grown. The first suicide case of a farmer in Japan was a conversion farmer – this year he would have become fully organic. Organic farmers, I’m just a very small one, are really pissed off, we have been fighting on behalf of the land and our animals for years against poison, animal cruelty, corporate greed and GMO and now this. Thanks Tepco.

Don’t worry bmurr, its only a little bit of poison…
It’s been quite a while since cesium and iodine have been detected in cali’s milk. Which means that it’s been in their soil for even longer. And if its in their soil, its in anything that grows out of the ground (fruits, veggies, other animals that consume plants).
Idaho has also detected radiation in their water, which again, will spread to whatever consumes good ol h2o. So just imagine what the west coast numbers REALLY look like had they not stopped testing conveniantly when we’re having a nuclear crises.

My question is did something specific happen over in Japan last week to cause this latest increase, or is it just a cumulative effect?
Report Comment
I’d say both. If the number four reactor had caught on fire, then thats very very bad. And since this problem still hasn’t been contained (since march) then all of the detected and undetected radiation particles are accumulating because the ocean doesn’t dilute it as much as if the radiation had been traveling over solid earth.
Not to mention that if any air gets inside right now, theres a 100% likliness of a hydrogen explosion. It’s gotten to a point where its as stable as a ticking time bomb…
Report Comment
But I would think if #4 did catch on fire last night it wouldn’t have made its way into milk on the west coast yet. In March, it supposedly took about five days for stuff to come over. So if there was a specific event, I would think it would’ve had to occur last week. Weren’t there also some spikes in Japan last week? Maybe there was some kind of major re-criticality in one of the melted cores?

You’re right Iam, radiation from last night’s fire wouldn’t have made it to us or gotten into the milk yet. What I meant was that events leading up to the fire (spikes in amount leaked) is probably swimming in cali’s (and more than likely all of the west coasts’) milk cartons. Oreos must be so miffed right now…
On September 25th Japan saw a spike in radiation levels and thats what is hitting the west coast as we speak. There was another spike on Sept 21st which has likely found its way into milk/water already.
Depending on each elements weight and velocity of the jet stream, it takes on average 2.5-6 days to get from Japan to Cali.

Being an oldtimer myself I remember another enormous government mistake…the Swine Flu fiasco of 1976.
This hasty and deadly vaccine was spurred by fears from the as-yet undiagnosed Legionnarie’s Disease in Philadelphia that killed 34 people celebrating the Bicentennial at the Bellevue-Stratford Hotel.
Nixon’s appointed king Gerald Ford went to speak at the hotel in September to reassure folks the hotel was safe (he may have stayed overnight, but I can’t find reliable information that he and Betty slept there…but I would swear he did so). In any event the cause for the “disease” was bacterial toxin in the air coolers on the roof of the old hotel…some say the toxins migrated from the abandoned nuclear fallout shelter in the basement. This was finally confirmed the following January of 1977, but wheels were in motion for a classic asinine government action.
The Congress fearing a hasty vaccine would jeopardize their best bribers, passed a Tort Claim act to give vaccine companies immunity from prosecution. There quickly followed a massive campaign to roll out the vaunted Swine Flu shot which was administered to 40 million Americans (but not Sickputer…oh no I may have been born at night, but not last night!).
Killed 25 (according to the feds) and hundreds more were paralyzed. Some reports say 1600 were killed. So 10 weeks after it began the campaign was finito…halted due to the deaths.
The campaign had been in high gear with Gerald Ford rolling up his sleeve to get jabbed with the deadly brew and risking toxic death for a second time in 3 months (besides the assorted Californian women with guns shooting at him). The head of the CDC was fired and Ford lost the 1976 election to the peanut farmer (an ex-submarine nuclear engineer named Jimmy Carter).
So when I see Obama and his band of ignorant sycophants lying to us once again I know history repeats itself…the Peter Principle reigns once again and all is not well with the world.

The zeolite which is found in europe will remove a portion of the strontium.
The zeolite from wyoming will remove some of the cesium.
Bamboo charcoal will capture a small amount of iodine.
So, a simple pvc pipe with bamboo charcoal on the bottom, then the two zeolites, and another bamboo on top. Caps on each end with a hole big enough to pour (funnel) milk through.
Or just get a giant (1/2 gal) coffe filter, throw all the filter goodies in and pour the milk through it a few times.
Just doing what can be done to make those orio cookies happy, one dunk at a time.
Also, the federal government already has a stockpile of prescription injectables that remove the bad ones from your bloodstream, plutonium, americium, radium, uranium. You can even ask your doctor to prescribe it. I’ve got the link but i really don’t care, precedent dictates they have no intention of letting people have it.

Radioactive strontium might get absorbed first- who knows?

Our nation instead will turn to new urgent concerns such as health and education with plenty more financial resources from the dramatic savings in energy expenditures to pay for them. Relationships between countries and our fellow countrymen will transform dramatically more positive.
Solar technology and other clean energy technology is here and ready for explosive growth. With the full backing of our political leaders we can quickly move forward towards a better existence. Please join me in petitioning our leaders in Washington to devote more investment spending in the area of clean energy. Thank you.
