Nintendo of Europe has put out new information about Skyward Sword in the form of a press release. In this press release, they talk about some of the new features to Zelda Skyward Sword. This of course includes the addition of the energy meter. However the most interesting bit of information is in regards to the Faron Woods and Skyview Temple.

We had previously heard that the “forest temple” would again be the first area that Link explores and this further confirmed that. The Faron Woods is an area that has never been explored by the people of Skyloft so this is a brand new experience for Link.

While in the Faron Woods, Link encounters a strange race of creatures known as the Kikwi. The Kikwi are sort of like a plant and animal hybrid that resembles a round fuzzy penguin.

According to an interview with  Shigeru Miyamoto, there were hints that Skyward Sword may  feature a fully orchestrated soundtrack, well Nintendo has just revealed that Skyward Sword will be featuring a full orchestra. Which is pretty monumental considering it will be the first Zelda game to include such a feature.  Shigeru Miyamoto had implied that Nintendo considered to go down the orchestral path for Skyward Sword with comments like “I don’t think we could do what we did with Mario Galaxy 2 and not try to match that with Zelda.” Do you think this is a good edition to Skyward Sword? Skyward Sword Nintendo’s Biggest Project?
Posted on October 5, 2011 by Posted in: Skyward Sword
zelda news

The Official Nintendo Magazine had recently posted that David Young, Nintendo’s Public Relations official, had claimed that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is the biggest project that Nintendo has ever done. Continuing, Mr. Young has mentioned there is many other things you can do in the game aside from the main adventure.

“The great thing about Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword is that it’s filled with content so as you’re going through exploring dungeons from place to place you’re going to find tons of different things to explore, see and collect. The way that it’s using the motion with your sword and shield, you’ll be immersed more than ever before in a Zelda game.” – David Young.

Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of the Legend of Zelda series, as well as the Mario series, also comments, saying that Skyward Sword will take 50-100 hours to complete.

What are your thoughts?

I just wanted to let you all know that I am in the middle of making some changes to the site design. After getting some feedback about the content size and news updates I decided to act on some of them.

First of all, you should notice that the news area is much bigger than before. This will give us more space to post media and larger updates. I also increased the width of the inner pages by a little bit.

Now you will notice that the header and footer are a bit off but I will be working on balancing everything here soon. So just stay tuned and keep checking in as I fix things up.
