Mayor Mike Huether
Sioux Falls Mayor Mike Huether is a Yankton native who graduated from South Dakota State University in 1984 with a degree in commercial economics. He and his wife of 25 years, Cindy, are humbled to represent the good people of Sioux Falls.
The “First Lady of Sioux Falls” is also the Executive Director of the Sioux Falls Tennis Association. They are blessed with their daughter Kylie, who recently graduated from the College of St. Benedict/St. John’s University. She is a political science major and was the captain and a four-time all-conference tennis player for the Blazers.
Mike has 25 years of executive management experience beginning in 1984 with Citibank South Dakota. Mike worked 15 years for Citi in South Dakota, New York, and Texas.
In 1999, Mike was hired to lead the development efforts of PREMIER Bankcard in Sioux Falls. After an enjoyable ten years of service, he resigned from his Executive Vice President position to focus full-time on earning the honor to become the Mayor of Sioux Falls. On May 17, 2010, he was sworn in as Mayor and jumped in “headfirst.”
He is involved in organizations and causes in our great city and state that are too numerous to list. In his “spare” time, Mike enjoys running, tennis, golf, working on his yard, is an avid hunter and attends as many potlucks as he can.
