17-year-old pop phenom Chris Brown has some seriously crazy moves. At a performance of his smash single “Run It” at the 2007 Grammys, Brown was looking more and more like Michael Jackson with each rapid-fire undulation. One thing is for sure – Brown is going to be around for a long, long time.
Brown grew up far from the spotlight in the small town of Tappahannock, Virginia, where he was born on May 5, 1989. His singing and dancing talent was noticed at an early age after several talent show performances, and he was ultimately picked up by local talent scouts. He was then moved to New York and eventually signed to Jive Records (home of Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, etc.) after wowing super-exec L.A. Reid. Brown’s self-titled debut album was released in late 2005, and produced four successful singles, three of which reached the Hot 100’s Top 10 with “Run It” landing at #1 for five weeks. The uniquely gifted performer made headlines in 2006 when he performed a tribute to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” at the World Music Awards.
In addition to his pop star day job, Brown has had several acting roles, including a brief stint on “The O.C.” and a large role in the surprise smash “Stomp the Yard” in January 2007. His sophomore album, “Exclusive,” is set for release in late 2007 and reportedly features production from Pharrell, Timbaland, and Kanye West.
