In May 2011, PARTNERING FOR CHANGE: The National Institute for Innovative Strategies to Combat Family Homelessness & Poverty
began operations as an evolution of Beyond Shelter's Institute for Research, Training & Technical Assistance.
Taking Beyond Shelter's previous national training and consulting to scale, the new national institute is a separate 501(c)(3) organization, under the leadership of Tanya Tull
, founder and former CEO of Beyond Shelter.
In addition to direct consulting, the new organization, PARTNERING FOR CHANGE
, will collaborate with practitioners and researchers across the country to develop, test and take to scale innovative program models geared to improving the social and economic well-being of vulnerable families in communities - and will promote the dissemination of evidence-based approaches through education, training, advocacy and consulting to non-profit organizations, public agencies, and grant makers.
Currently, Partnering for Change (PFC)
is providing consulting services to organizations in the Greater Los Angeles area on the development of "housing first' and rapid re-housing programs and collaborations to provide permanent housing linked to social services. PFC
consulting services include evaluation and assessment of current program design (including collaborative efforts with other agencies), the integration of new program components into service delivery, and staff training in new approaches to ending and preventing homelessness for a variety of homeless populations.
