From Church To
Emerging Church DVD Series
by Sandy Simpson
The issue of the Emerging Church and it's introduction
into many churches and mission organizations has reached a critical point.
Many do not undersand what is being leavened into churches by the EC leadership.
Many would be shocked to know their belief systems involve Universalism,
New Age, defense of postmodernism, Interfaithism, and many other false
doctrines. In order to reach out to this generation the EC leadership
is proposing a whole new "map" to deal with what they perceive is a lack
of understanding on the part of the churches on how to communicate.
EC proponants believe the "scripture" for today is evolving and must change
in order to reach postmoderns.

Idolatry In Their
Hearts
Landmark Book!
by Sandy Simpson & Mike
Oppenheimer
IDOLATRY
IN THEIR HEARTS
Does having eternity in your heart mean that you know
God and are His child? Could Gentile cultures understand the Gospel from
the stars? Did God create man’s cultures? Has God always been in the process
of redeeming cultures from the time of Babel by placing in them a true
revelation of Himself? Is there the worship of YHWH in all cultures and
religions through the names of “supreme beings”? Have all cultures
always had a way to make things right between them and God? These questions
and many more are answered in this book that addresses the false teachings
of The New Apostolic Reformation regarding missiological methods as being
carried out by many agencies including the World Christian Gathering on
Indigenous People, YWAM, and many Bible societies.

Lessons In Forgiveness
Great Study!
by Sandy Simpson
LESSONS
IN FORGIVENESS
Through the years I have been
presented with many opportunities to forgive. Sometimes the situation was
so severe that it took me some time to forgive and start the process of
healing for myself, and eventually for others. I learned that a Christian
needs to forgive other people even if they have not repented of their sins.
That can be really hard if we let it be hard. But if we give our burdens
over to the Lord, He will carry them and that frees us up to treat other
people with love, compassion, and be in the right frame of mind and heart
to set them up for reconciliation with Jesus Christ. That does not mean
we tolerate their sin. We simply forgive them for what they have done to
us, whether perceived or real, and move on to looking for ways to redeem
them. We can then present to them the “truth in love” even when we have
to rebuke them.

to realize the absolute necessity of growing to maturity in Christ. Many
churches are urging Christians to push aside discernment in favor of experience.

Word-Faith Articles
(1) An Examination
Of The Word-Faith Movement by Richard J. Vincent, 1991
"The Word-Faith Teachers. This is the group that would seek to convince
us that Jesus and His disciples were rich, that to be poor is a sin, to
be sick is a sin, and that faith is a creative force that we can use to
shape our world just like God supposedly created this world and universe
that we live in through His "faith"! Kenneth Hagin, Kenneth Copeland, Paul
Crouch, John Avanzini, Robert Tilton, Fred Price, and Benny Hinn (who at
the time of this writing has authored the number 1 best selling Christian
book in America, 'Good Morning, Holy Spirit') are just a few that spew
out this theological vomit." Copeland is one of the fathers of the
Toronto/Brownsville "counterfeit" revival movement.
(2) The "Faith"
Movement May Be Prospering But Is It Healthy? by Stuart St. John,
1997
"What would you say, I wonder, if you were told that there is a
teaching sweeping through evangelical churches in our day that not only
has made changes to, but has also taken out the very core of the Gospel
and replaced it with a fake?" Copeland is one of the fathers of the
Toronto/Brownsville "counterfeit" revival movement.
(3) Word-Faith
Theology and Mormonism by Watchman Fellowship, Inc., 1995
"Teaching that God, who is pure spirit (James 4:24), has His own
spirit body is to teach something definitely not found in Scripture.
Also,
check out their articles on Word-Faith
Theology, The
Atonement and Word Faith Theology, and Deception
Within the Church
(4) A Profile Of The Word-Faith
Movement compiled by Clete Hux, 1997
"Positive Confession is the belief that if a believer speaks "spiritual"
or "faith-filled" words then he can have what he says. Unfortunately, this
influence has invaded the church and continues to cause much turmoil and
confusion."
(5) What's
Wrong With The Faith Movement - Part One by Hendrik H. Hanegraaff,
1993
"What's wrong with the "Faith" movement? Its leaders include many
of the most popular television evangelists. Its adherents compose a large
percentage of charismatic evangelical Christians. Its emphases on faith,
the authority of the believer, and the absolute veracity of Scripture could
appear to be just what today's church needs. And yet, I am convinced that
this movement poses one of the greatest contemporary threats to orthodox
Christianity from within. Through it, cultic theology is being increasingly
accepted as true Christianity."
(6) What's
Wrong With The Faith Movement - Part Two by Hendrik H. Hanegraaff
and Erwin M. de Castro, 1993
"Copeland is responsible for spreading many of the Faith movement's
unbiblical teachings. He distorts the biblical concepts of faith and covenant.
He reduces God to the image of man while elevating man to the status of
God. He lowers Jesus to being a product of positive confession who took
on a satanic nature at the cross. And he promotes the occult practice of
creative visualization." Copeland is one of the fathers of the Toronto/Brownsville
"counterfeit" revival movement.
(7) Faith
in Faith or Faith in God? by Hendrik H. Hanegraaff, 1990
"Walter Martin used to say, "All faith is subsumed under the overarching
biblical doctrine of the sovereignty of God." The Creator is the Lord of
the universe, not a cosmic "gofer" at the beck and call of His creation.
It is not our faith that sits on the throne, but our sovereign God (1 Chron.
29:10-12). "
(8) Freedom
from the Faith Movement: The Personal Testimony by Jeff Beard,
1990
"At Rhema, I was taught the heretical doctrine that Jesus had to
die spiritually, which, by the way, renders Jesus' work on the cross insufficient
for man's redemption and justification. I remember Kenneth Copeland telling
us that when Christ died on the cross, the Second Person of the Godhead
was broken off from the other two Persons."
(9) 10
Reasons To Reject Word Of Faith Teachings by Cross + Word, 1997
"'Positive Confession', a movement that came to popular acclaim
through supposedly good fruit such as healing, has revealed its true nature
as something more like a cult, with extremes of belief that bring the Name
of the Lord into disrepute. The roots of Word of Faith doctrine are firmly
planted in the soil of the metaphysical cults."
(10) Misplaced
Faith by B. M. Rocine, 1997
"By saying the right formulas, can people control God? Can the Holy
Spirit be held in the palm of the hand, pumped, or scooped into other people?
Is it true that Jesus Christ will not come back until Christians all over
the world unite under the leadership of new apostles and prophets and take
control of the whole earth? Can Christians be gods?"
(11) Atonement
Where? by Moreno Dal Bello, 1998
"A Biblical Analysis of the Disturbing Claims Put Forward by the
Faith Movement, Which Include the Inefficiency of
Christ's Blood, Alone, to Atone for the Sins of Man; the Need for
Christ's Spiritual Death, and that the
Redemption of Mankind was Completed in Hell!"
(12) My
Word Of Faith Testimony by Cross + Word, 1998
"Some people have asked me, how did God open your eyes to the errors
of the Faith Movement? So, I thought it would be helpful to post to this
website my own story. It's not a researched article, but a personal testimony,
so take it or leave it."
(13) Heresies
Of The Word-Faith Movement by Christian Youth Alliance, 1998
"These examples and many, many others can be demonstrated from the
materials produced by the Word-Faith teachers. If you would like to hear
these and many other quotes for yourself (.wav files), please send an email
specifying the individuals you are interested in."
(14) Essek
Kenyon - Cult Founder Or Evangelical Minister by Geir Lie, 1998
A careful study of E.W. Kenyon by Geir Lie, who was himself brought
up in the Faith Movement. We do not agree with all his observations,
but the historical record is enough to point to the birth or the current
Word-Faith Movement. Kenyon was heavily influenced by the New Thought
and Christian Science. Kenyon spawned Kenneth Hagin and RHEMA, who
shamlessly ripped off Kenyon's work and called it his own. That his
work needed ripping off is what should mystify most Christians.
(15) How
the Health and Wealth Gospel Twists Scripture by The Watchman Expositor,
1995
"Most Christians have heard some of the following: "You can have
what you say," "The reason you haven't been healed is that you don't have
enough faith," "We can write our own ticket with God if we decide what
we want, believe that it's ours, and confess it," "He wants you rich and
healthy," "What is the desire of your heart? Name it , claim it by faith,
and it is yours! Your heavenly Father has promised it. It's right there
in the Bible." Such statements reflect the models which set forth a theology
of the spoken word (rhematology) or of thought-actualization, commonly
known as "positive confession", which stresses the inherent power of words
and thoughts."
(16) The
"Jesus Died Spiritually" Heresy by Inner City Discernment Ministry,
1998
"One of the most blatant and blasphemous heresies taught by the
major internationally known Word of Faith teachers is the doctrine that
says Jesus Christ, God the Son died spiritually and had to be reborn spiritually
due to becoming a lost sinner."
(17) David Wilkerson
Blasts Faith Preachers In Sermon by Billy Bruce in New York City,
1999
"In a sermon preached six months ago and circulated widely on cassette
tapes, New York pastor David Wilkerson blasts prosperity doctrines, "holy
laughter" and the flamboyance of evangelist Benny Hinn." Here is
the transcript of the "Reproach
Of The Solemn Assembly" by David Wilkerson.
(18) The
Word Of Faith And The Mormon Connection by Sword of the Spirit
Apologetics, 1999
Identical doctrines of Word Of Faith and Mormons.
(19) Joni
Eareckson Tada - Comments On Word-Faith by Joni Eareckson Tada,
Bible Answer Man program, 12/99
On December 8, 1999, Joni Eareckson Tada was on the Bible Answer Man,
and made devastating comments about Word-Faith teachings.
(20) The
Reproach Of The Solemn Assembly by David Wilkerson, 1999
"This important transcript from a tape by David Wilkerson of Times
Square Church, is shocking, moving and very timely."
(21) Word-Faith
Movement - Profile by Clete Hux, Watchman Fellowship, 1996
"As a movement rather than an organized group, there is no founder
or founding date, per se. The philosophical roots extend to Gnosticism.
E.W. Kenyon (1860-?) was perhaps the earliest modern exponent to blend
the
movement's eastern mystical and New Age elements with Christian
teaching."
(22) Positive
Confession by Watchman Fellowship, 1995
"Positive Confession is the belief that if a believer speaks "spiritual"
or "faith-filled" words then he can have what he says. Unfortunately, this
influence has invaded the church and continues to cause much turmoil and
confusion. "
(23) Wells
Without Water by Cross + Word, 2000
"This is a major new study on the Word of
Faith Movement, using verbatim transcripts from tapes produced by the Kenneth
Copeland Ministry. ("Wells Without Water" was originally produced as four
audio tapes in the 1980's). The four major sections of the study are as
follows:"
-
Forces or Fruit?
-
Re-born or Raised? - Part
(a) --- Part (b)
-
Dominion or Deliverance?
-
Teaching or Travesty? - Part
(a) --- Part (b)
(24) An
Evaluation Of The Key Doctrines In The Health And Wealth Faith Movement
by Vincent McCann, Spotlight Ministries
"Even though the health and wealth faith movement continues to attract
a following it has been seen that in many of its key doctrines it deviates
from historic Christian belief. This is evident in almost every aspect
of doctrine and practice, such as Christian living, the doctrine of God,
the atonement, and anthropology."
(25) Did
Jesus Die Spiritually, His Spirit Become Re-Created, And He Become Born
Again? by Neil
Rivalland
"The cross of Christ and the
Atonement are at the heart of the Christian faith. Our understanding of
the doctrine of the Atonement affects our understanding of all other fundamental
Christian doctrine - everything from the attributes of God, to the person
of Christ, to the doctrine of salvation, and to our understanding of sanctification."

Care Ministries, 9/00

(27) Becoming
Rich Under The Anointing -The Wealth Of The Wicked Transferred
by Mike Oppenheimer, Let Us Reason Ministries, 5/21/00
"Want to know what someone really believes-watch
how they live, their lifestyle. When men live and promote an opulent lifestyle
they have ignored the warning of Jesus of loving God or loving money. You
cannot serve both! Listen to what they are teaching on. The majority of
sermons are on getting money, and their life revolves around it, what more
can be said."
(28) The
Price Is Right Or Wrong? by Mike Oppenheimer,
Let Us Reason Ministries, 12/4/00
"Fred Prices' faith teaching on prosperity."
(29) Heresies
Of The Word-Faith Movement by Hegewisch
Baptist Church, 12/00
"Have you heard of Joyce Meyer, Kenneth Hagin,
Kenneth Copeland, Benny Hinn, Fred Price, Paul Crouch, Kathryn Kuhlman,
or Marilyn Hickey? There are many proponents of the Word Faith Movement,
which currently endorse a great number of heresies and blasphemies."
(30) The
Word Of Faith Movement by Gary E Gilley,
Pastor-Teacher at Southern View Chapel, Volume 5, Issue 4, 1999
The fastest growing segment of Christianity
today is the Word of Faith Movement, also known as the Positive Confession
or simply "Faith" movement. It’s growth is at least partially due to the
massive amounts of money the leaders are able to extract from the faithful.
This influx of cash allows for huge buildings and extensive ministries,
and more importantly, wide exposure on television, which translates into
numerical growth. Not only do many Word of Faith preachers broadcast their
services and campaigns, but the largest Christian-based television network
in the world is owned by Faith adherents, Paul and Jan Crouch. The Trinity
Broadcasting Network (TBN), founded by the Crouches, with an estimated
net worth of one-half a billion dollars, is capable of televising the Faith
message (as well as many other errant messages) all over the world.
(31) Faith
Movement Exposed by David Dorozan,
2001
"The testimony of a man who get invovled with
Henry Hinn (Benny Hinn's brother) and his church, Vancouver Christian Center.
He details the false doctrines, false prophesies, and shady financial dealings
of the church."

(34) Word-Faith
Teachings by Belfast Berean

(35) The
Power Of Money by Paul Proctor,
2003
There’s nothing in the bible about Jesus or
the apostles ever soliciting money from those they preached to. Despite
the fact that it’s vulgar, offensive and counterproductive to the cause
of Christ, televangelists and others like them have been doing just that
and more for eons. You see, it takes a lot of money to keep a face on TV
and I suppose many of them see that as somehow good for God.
(36) The
False Teachings of the Word of Faith Movement
by Jim L. Smith
Jim L. Smith is the Senior Pastor/Founder
of Battlefield Church of Faith, Ringgold, Georgia. He was born in West
Palm Beach, Florida in 1965, was raised in the First Baptist Denomination
and was subsequently ordained by the Word of Faith ministry in 1999 after
leaving Church of God to start Battlefield Church of Faith (Interdenominational/Pentecostal).
This is his story and exposé - for Pastor Smith uncovered false
teachings within the Word of Faith movement that caused him to turn away
from it. Now he is eager to share what he found with anyone who has a love
for truth. His work can also be found on his website at battlefieldchurchoffaith.org.

(37) C&MA
Endorses the Word of Faith Movement
by Sandy Simpson, 9/30/03
I have a great admiration for both A.B. Simpson and Christian and
Missionary Alliance for their work for the Lord up to the present time.
This is why I am writing this article because I believe that Jonathan Graf,
Director of Prayer Mobilization for C&MA is attempting to indoctrinate
that organization with false teachings from the Word-Faith movement.
(38) Tangled
In The Miracle Net by Steve Mitchell,
Power To Stand, 10/03
India and indeed all of Asia is being inundated and invaded by the
worst false teachings imaginable exported from beyond its shores. Unfortunately,
bad seed from the Word/Faith heretics and the Third Wave false teachers
are finding fertile soil in Indian churches nationwide.

Who
Wants To Be A God? by Mike Oppenheimer, Let Us Reason Ministries,
2/04
So many people seem to be convinced that the Bible teaches that
we are gods. The Mormons, the New Agers and yes, there are a growing number
of Christians that believe this as well. Each of these have a different
variation on what this means. The Christian view comes from the influence
of heretical Word/Faith teachers.

the sight of God." Acts 8:20-21
(42)
The
Culting Of Christianity by Craig Branch, New Man Magazine, April
20, 2004
Not long ago, religious cults were dismissed by many Americans as
being the stuff of aging California hippies or eccentric gurus from the
Far East. But things have changed. Today, you need not look any further
than around the block to encounter the pervasive influence of cults. Their
authors are on the best-seller lists. Their ideas are subtly communicated
in popular music, movies and TV programs. Their propagators are, in some
instances quite literally, knocking at your door.

(48) “Sowing
Your Faith Seed” or “Dialing For Dollars? ” –The TBN Praise-A-Thon
by Michael C. Gaudiosi - The Berean Radio Network, THE NOBLE BEREAN: Volume
Four October-December 2005
IT’S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN! Well, here we
go again! It’s Praise-A-Thon time! If you tuned into TBN during the week
of October 31st, you saw the parade of stars…the spiritual elite stars
that is! Among them were Paul and Jan Crouch, Juanita Bynum, Paula White,
Jentezen Franklin, Mark Chironna and a host of other Word Faith teachers
that gathered together for one week telling you to “sow a seed” or “sow
a seed faith promise” or “sow a faith promise seed” …etc, however you slice
it, it’s the same thing! The whole idea here is for you to “go to the phone
and give”. This is your act of obedience to the Lord and if you hesitate,
you are in rebellion! They don’t come out and say that directly, well at
least some of them don’t, but that is usually what is meant here. I have
been watching this lunacy all during the week it was on, and I wanted to
give my two cents worth in this newsletter.
(49) “The
TBN Spring 2006 Praise-A-Thon, Another Fundraising Fiasco!” by
Michael C. Gaudiosi, The Berean Radio Network, THE NOBLE BEREAN: Volume
Nine May 2006
IT’S SPRING AGAIN; TIME TO SOW YOUR SEED!
Now, I am not talking about planting seeds in a literal outdoor garden,
rather it’s time to sow a seed in the form of a financial donation to,
what some would call, the one and only means of the Gospel being preached
to the entire world, that is the great Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN
for short). During the week of April 17th TBN held the first of two annual
fundraisers they call…the Praise-A-Thon!

(51) Most
Christians Say God Wants Them Rich by Slice of Laodicea, 9/13/06
Following up on the Time magazine story on prosperity preaching,
the Christian Post reports that a majority of American "Christians" say
that God wants them rich.
(52) Can we interpret
Genesis 1:27 as meaning our divinity? by Mike Oppenheimer, Let
Us Reason Ministries, 10/3/06
This is why the Bible says we must be “born again” (“born from above”)
in order to be formed in God's image and likeness. Through a spiritual
rebirth God wishes to restore fallen man in his sinful state to begin a
relationship with him (creator to creature) by making his home with him
(John 14:23). In Rom. 8:29 we are told that we are “to be conformed to
the image of his Son.” This is a continual process starting from the time
we are born again. When we a renewed we don't become God, nor will we be
exactly like him in the resurrection. Jesus said to Philip: “He who has
seen Me has seen the Father” (John 14:9), we can never say we are the exact
perfect image or representation of the invisible God, we are creatures
and will be creatures even in the resurrection.

ANOINTING, ABUNDANCE AND PROSPERITY These were the three “anointed”
keywords spoken in “abundance and prosperity” during the two weeks of the
“Daystar Fall 2006 Share-a-Thon” held from September 18th to October 2nd.
This newsletter, which you are about to embark, is my report of what I’ve
seen and heard during this TV fundraiser. I’ll have direct quotes from
some famous, and some not so famous, “anointed” TV preachers who spent
the “abundance” of their time, speaking a “prosperity” message, which was
about nothing but “anointing, abundance and prosperity”.

THE DAYSTAR SPRING 2007 SHARE-A-THON was in full swing from March
19th until April 2nd. In the two weeks of this fund raiser, I saw nothing
different from past fund raisers Daystar has done. Maybe that’s because
Daystar kept airing video from their past fund raisers. Most of what was
aired was from the Fall 2006 Share-a-Thon, so I had already seen it, and
gave my report (see volumes 13 and 14 of the Noble Berean Newsletter).

Children by SufferTheChildren.com, 5/07
The DVD that this promo advertises is one of the best exposes of the
cons, frauds lies and downright rip offs of televangelists like Kenneth
Copeland, Benny Hinn and Joyce Meyer et al. We have watched the full DVD,
which is obtainable via the above link. It is well worth purchasing and
viewing. Neither CWM nor Philip Powell gains anything from this. Benny
Hinn is shown appealing for money, which he promised to a partially blind
boy for his education. The father said no money was received, notwithstanding
an emotional plea to millions on TV. Hinn claimed the boy was healed. The
father and the boy denied it. “Suffer the Children” takes a look into
the lives and lifestyles of some of the biggest names in tele-evangelism
today. It explores the origins of the Word of Faith movement, also known
as the Prosperity Gospel, and finds that its origins are not Christian
at all.

(61) SPECIAL
EDITION: Senator Probes Televangelists' Finances by Moriel Ministries,
Be Alert! e-Newsletter, 11/08/07
This is that... Since the
true church has failed at following the command to judge sin within the
church and has rather focused on the unbiblical practice of judging unbelievers
and the world, that unbelieving world is judging them just as God used
unbelieving nations to judge Israel and Judah. Forward this to as many
Christians you know because I am finding that many are still completely
in the dark about the true reality of the current temple, the church -
it is being torn down stone by stone just as the first two temples, as
believers are living stones. What will wake believers out of the sleepy
stupor, I don't know, but I pray it comes before it's too late.

“WE DON'T NEED YOUR MONEY!!” I will base this entire report with
the very quote from Paul Crouch Jr. himself. This is the TBN Fall 2007
Praise-a-Thon
QUOTE OF THE WEEK: “We don't need your money...we don't need your
money, but we want you to be blessed, and we want to release the blessing
into your life, and that's what this is all about” - (Paul Crouch Jr. -
TBN Fall 2007 Praise-a-Thon November 10th 2007) This is what it's really
all about! It's not about TBN and their need to stay on the air with the
Gospel of Jesus Christ, although this is what they tell you, but rather
it's all about you being blessed! That's it! The entire week of Praise-a-Thon,
with all the drama, fanfare and long winded, repetitive “seed faith giving”
speeches, is actually all about YOU!! Plain and simple! I am not the one
who said this...Paul Crouch Jr. did!

Against Word of Faith Heresy by Chrystal, Slaughter Of The Sheep,
May 2, 2009
Anyone who has a precursory knowledge of Word of Faith and it’s
heretical theology has heard of the “Jesus died spiritually doctrine,”
which is also known as the “Jesus was born again in Hell” doctrine.
It is very popular among teachers such as the late Kenneth Hagin, Kenneth
Copeland, Frederick Price, and Creflo Dollar. They maintain that
it wasn’t Jesus’ death on the cross that was sufficient for our salvation.
They claim Jesus had to take on the nature of Satan, go to Hell, and be
born again. If this sounds like blasphemy, that’s because it is.
(76) The First and
Final Lie: Self-deification by The Berean Call, 10/30/09
Incredibly, the first sin of those whom God created took place in
a perfectly holy environment: heaven. That would seem to be incomprehensible,
given what Scripture tells us about heaven, the dwelling place of God.
Just as astonishing, Adam and Eve, who were also in a perfect environment
and had yet to know sin, were seduced by the same sin as Lucifer ("light
bearer"), later called Satan ("adversary") and "that old serpent" (Revelation
12:9; 20:2).

Jordan: Familiar Spirits at Work by Chrystal, Slaughter of the

Here is more from the 19-year-old Manasseh Jordan, self-proclaimed
prophet. What do we say about this young man? At best, he has a familiar
spirit, at worst, he’s another Peter Popoff. One thing is certain,
he is not of God. He is the product of E. Bernard Jordan, who claims
to be God, and Benny Hinn. What are the chances he will be Biblically
sound springing from those roots? Not very good.
(80) The Value of
Suffering by The Berean Call, 5/6/10
What is the view among Christians? Most reflect the world's thinking
and actions, to some degree, rather than what the Bible teaches. This has
led to serious doctrinal errors among many who claim to be biblical Christians.
Perhaps the most widespread promotion of this is in the "healing and prosperity"
movement that commands a large part of so-called Christian television (see
The Seduction of Christianity, resource pages). Followers of this movement
promote the false idea that suffering was done away with at the Cross.
Therefore, this teaching claims, issues that produce suffering are caused
by a lack of faith on the part of the sufferer. As error begets error,
the proponents of "healing and prosperity" distort biblical faith into
a method that can be used to ward off illness and bring about riches.

“God wants you to be rich, healthy and happy. If you have financial

can get anything they wish from God by planting seeds in the form of cash.
Every dollar you give God, He repays ten or a hundred fold.” As a result
of this message, millions of people have converted to Christianity and
swelled the coffers of the TV stations, preachers and churches that preach
this. But we must ask a few questions: Are they following the God of the
Bible, and are those who teach and believe this message really Christians?
How dare we ask such questions? Well, how dare we not! It all hinges on
one question: Is the god of the prosperity message the God of the Bible?

(85) Are We Gods?
by Mike Oppeneheimer, 1/2/11
Since the Bible teaches us there is only one true God, Any creature,
by its nature, disqualifies itself from being God. The only creature that
exalted itself to claim to be a God, is Lucifer. All others that claim
this follow in his footsteps. Considering this quote in the gospel of John
upholds the deity of Christ, it makes this even more severe that men would
take this out of the context and apply it to themselves.

(90) The Handkerchief Phenomenon - Addendum
To "A Whole Lot Of Wishful Thinking These Days" by Sandy Simpson,
1/24/11
There is a new phenomenon especially among some island churches
where handkerchiefs are being handed around a congregation claiming that
they have an anointing that can cause people to be healed and other miraculous
things happen to them. The problem with this idea is especially
evident in two things: (1) that this can and is being considered by many
to be Christian magic and (2) that it is being taught as being something
that should be a normal part of the Christian experience. It is taught
that if you have faith you will believe in touching the handkerchief that
you will be healed, freed from demons, or get a special anointing.

he derives from hedonism. Startled and baffled you stand. You
cheekily pinch your cheek in wonder whether you are still with yourself.
It stands. The biggest Christian channel, as they maintain TBN is,
is proclaiming a Christian peace ascribable to explicable and tangible
sources. They are pacified by the fallacy that they call prosperity.
While they claim that Jehovah is their God, they loyally serve mammon and

In Christ, May 8, 2008
John and Lisa say: “The Source of the Secret is to introduce people
to the Creator of all laws at work in the universe.” Unfortunately, the
Beveres, et al, are introducing their audience to demon activity, to satan,
and the works of the flesh. When one leaves the moorings of the infallible
Word of God, this is the result - apostasy. Did Jesus die on the cross
and rise again just to placate those who are “searching for a better life”,
so we can help them “delve deeper into ideas behind attaining wealth and
health”?

Bevere: Driven By Eternity reviewed by Neil Cullen McKinlay, 1/2009
There are many gold nuggets in Driven by Eternity, but it is such
a pity that the reader has to crawl around in the decayed and dangerous
mineshafts of Dispensationalism and Arminianism to find them! Bevere’s
challenge for Christians to live godly lives by keeping God’s Commandments
is heartening. His exhortation to do so in order to secure a good seat
in eternity is not – although we thank him for the timely reminder that
as Christians we ought to be thinking in terms of eternity. However, as
Christians we ought to serve the Lord out of love and gratitude for the
salvation He has purchased for us on Calvary’s cross.
(7) Article
on John Bevere by The No Goofy Zone Discernment Ministry, 5/21/08
Bevere on the subject of discernment ... John Bevere : "I am so
tired of criticalness being called discernment. Do you want to know true
discernment? Paul said "That your love may abound in all discernment."
When you are willing to die for somebody that is when you are actually
discerning them. Jesus could call the Pharisees hypocrites and snakes because
he went to the cross and died for them. So the next time you are quote
"discerning" about somebody ask yourselves the question could you die for
them? If you can`t say yes, you're critical because the love of God is
to lay down your life for them, and discernment is rooted only in love.
Got it?" (John Bevere, The Christian Channel Europe "The Messenger" 26/3/98)
It is true that Christians need to speak the truth in love among brothers
in the Faith (Eph. 4:15). Conversely, and not taught by Bevere, Christians
are also to mark, avoid and reject the divisive ones, heretics (Rom. 16:17,
Tit. 3:10). Apparently Bevere wants to major on discernment among those
who call themselves believers to the exclusion of rejecting heresy from
the wolves in sheep's clothing. But what Bevere teaches that is false teaching
is that it is wrong for Christians to be "critical". The Greek word from
which we get the English word "critical" is kritikos. Strongs says it means
discerner, relating to judging, fit for judging, skilled in judging. The
Bible clearly teaches that Christians are to learn to discern.

(9) Covering
Theology - The "Covering" Heresy by Steve Wetzel, MTTU News, 7/1/2008
John Bevere released a book called, ‘Under Cover’ stressing the
importance of covering in the life of an individual believer. This is not
a biblical teaching. We are to submit to authorities, both inside the Church
and in the world, as long as what they ask us to do is not in conflict
with God’s commands (1 John 2:1, 5:2). We are to obey the laws of the land
(1 Pet. 2:13-16) “but as the servants of God” (1 Peter. 2:16). We are to
submit to the authorities in the Church (Heb. 13:17), but they are also
not to lord it over people (Mark 10:42-45), and we are to be Bereans (Acts.
17:11) and test what they teach (1 Thess. 5:21, 1 John 4:1, 1 Cor. 10:15),
and reject them if they are heretics (Titus 3:10).

"prophet" inform the public about his prophetic warnings months or even
years before the disaster occurred?
(6) Holy
Cows! by Spirit of Error, 8/20/10
“God owns the cattle on a thousand hills.” The above statement —
quoted from Psalm 50:10 — has become a favorite in apostolic-prophetic
churches where “prosperity theology” is a key teaching. If God owns the
cattle on a thousand hills and everything else besides, then He will certainly
give His people anything they desire — money, mansions, muscle cars. Or
so the teaching goes. Click
here to see how “prophet” Kim Clement used this verse to teach that
God will give Americans land, property and miracles. But is this actually
what Psalm 50:10 teaches? Does it promote the idea that God wants His people
to amass land, houses and money? I will show that it doesn’t.

Crouch told her TBN newsletter readers of this strange mystical

in mid-air, she claimed: "It happened last Wednesday," she wrote.
"‘Jan,’ I heard a voice say. ‘Yes,’ I responded, looking around….
‘Hello.’ I heard nothing. "Hello, is someone there? Did
someone call me?’ Working in my office about 4:00 p.m., I heard it
again from down the hall: ’Jan.’ I answered, ‘Yes, I heard you…hello? Did
someone call me?’… "It was 10:30 p.m. — and I was still in my office finishing
up late faxes — I heard it again. ‘Jan.’ I froze in my chair.
I said, ‘Is someone there?’ and got up quickly and went to the back door."

How very sad, the alleged Church “militant”
is so tepid and timid will not even defend the Holy Trinity. So a flaming
heretic like Dr. T.D. Jakes with a very powerful speaking persona will
now come right into this SBC meeting and dominate it as he did last year
at C3 2006. And from there other “evangelical” church groups will be more
emboldened to follow suit and Jakes will go from someone who was once on
the fringe of the Church to front and center stage. But know this: Opening
this door to Jakes will also be opening the door for mainstream acceptance
for a whole host of other Word Faith and Emergent Church spiritual “knuckleheads.”
Unfortunately I must say there are quite perilous times ahead.

Jakes quoted an article we wrote titled "Evangelical Leaders Promote

Jakes rightly acknowledges Rick Warren's promotion of eastern mysticism:
In Warren's Purpose-Driven Life, he does encourage people to practice "breath
prayers" by repeating words and phrases over and over in a mantra-style
prayer, a practice that is similar to that found in Hindu yoga and Zen
Buddhism." But Jakes seems to advocate Rick Warren's position by stating:
In many cases yoga can be viewed as a quiet place where we individually
meditate on God's word and who that God is.

Meyerby G. Richard Fisher and Paul R. Belli, 1999
"Christians have come to presume that teachers and authors who profess
to speak and write out of a calling from the Holy Spirit will present a
message that is doctrinally sound and consistent from sermon to sermon
and book to book. However, anyone who has watched the Christian Charismatic
scene over the past several years knows that such a presumption is dangerous
and often will fail to be borne out. Joyce Meyer, a rising star on the
Charismatic horizon with a weekly program on cable TV and the Trinity Broadcasting
Network and a new book, The Word, The Name, The Blood, is the latest example."

line is that as a result of not studying to show herself approved unto

it like it is — she tells it like it isn’t." Also, check out

Prosperity - Joyce Meyer by Mary Warner, Religion News Service,

As part of a long line of "prosperity gospel"
preachers -- a line that also included Jim and Tammy Bakker -- Meyer points
her fans to a God who can fix their problems. He even wants them to be
wealthy. "We're going to press in and take hold of what you have for us,"
she told God in an opening prayer, her arms spread wide and the light dancing
off her dangling, sparkly earrings. "We refuse to leave the way we came."
Meyer is part of a new breed of TV preachers who rebuilt the genre in the
years following the scandalous 1980s downfall of the Bakkers and Jimmy
Swaggart.

A Christian friend of mine is reading one of Joyce Meyer’s books.
If you haven’t heard of Meyer, she is a popular health and wealth author/radio
& TV teacher/conference speaker who believes God is our sugar daddy.
The evangelist has been criticized for her “conspicuously prosperous lifestyle.”
According to my friend, Joyce’s books are “uplifting.” She didn’t like
hearing that some of her favorite author’s teaching is theological heresy.
To my friend’s way of thinking, if a book makes you feel good, doctrine
isn’t all that important.

I want to begin this article by giving credit
where credit is due. When it comes to the Lakewood charismatic

which must be cited as worthy. To begin with the church was originally
started by John Osteen, who was originally a Southern Baptist pastor but
after receiving the “baptism” in/with the Holy Spirit he became enamored
with the charismatic renewal movement in its early stage and eventually
became associated with the Word of

If these “teachers” would just leave it at

they don’t, and Osteen and Meyer, et al, then attempt to convey the idea
to the unsuspecting masses that what they “preach” is in line with the
historic orthodox faith which was once for all handed down to the saints
(Jude 3, NASB). However, these false prophets of “Christian” self-esteem,
such as Joel Osteen and Joyce Meyer have been shown clearly to be a part
of the cult of the Word Faith Movement. And as such, they do not represent
the Christian Church and are definitely not worthy of the support of true
Christians.
(4) Osteen's
Ignorance by Discernment Ministries International, 9/05
If there has been one article on our website
which has drawn more criticism is the reprint of "The
Leaven of Lakewood." DMI has received numerous emails from people
who believe Joel is truly one of God's most anointed servants and a force
for good within the Church and world. Almost all of the complaints and
calls for us to take down that article seem to focus in on my concern over
his lack of theological training. Many people simply cannot see the
need to go to seminary in order to be a pastor of a church. The following
comments are taken from an interview given on Larry King Live, June 20,
2005. I will let Joel speak for himself and you, the reader, be the
judge whether or not a formal biblical education is of benefit to someone
who serves as "pastor" of the largest congregation in America. My
comments will be in Ariel font, King's and Osteen's in New Times Roman.
I have tried to tie the salient points of the interview together, which
at best can be described as a stream of consciousness on both King's and
Osteen's part.

Osteen: Smile When You Lie by Ken Silva, Apprising Ministries,
2005
Unless you have been living on another planet
you have no doubt heard of, or even seen America’s smiling pastor Joel
Osteen, head of Lakewood Church, one of the largest professing Evangelical
Christian congregations in the world. What needs to be understood here
is that the only way someone like this could even be considered an Evangelical
is due to the disturbing low ebb of discernment today in the Body of Christ.
Here is a man who at best has such an alarming simplistic message concerning
Christianity–and at worst is yet another of the many Word Faith teachers
currently infesting our Lord’s Church–an alarmingly arrogant breed who
are now fearlessly spouting their doctrines of devils.

Osteen: What's So Difficult? by Ken Silva, Apprising Ministries,
9/4/06
Smiling Joel Osteen was in Boston recently
for a book signing and a grueling two hour worship “show.” The subject
of same sex marriage was brought up, and while it temporarily wiped the
smile off of his face, Osteen did manage to keep his composure long enough
to answer in his customary vagaries.
(7) Joel
Osteen: The Pandering Prophet by Slice of Laodicea, 9/11/06
A belated Hall of Shame Award goes to Joel Osteen for his effeminate
and ungodly response to the question of gay marriage. This article points
out that when Joel Osteen was asked about homosexuality at a book signing
recently, he was sitting in the nation's biggest battle zone over the issue.
I am not able to quote from materials that were handed out to children
in Massachusetts schools, they are so vile. Battle after battle is being
fought in that state over the gay cabal that threatens children. This is
the state where the little second grader went off to school in Lexington,
Massachusetts and his teacher hauled out King and King at story time, a
story where the prince of the kingdom decides to skip the women in the
realm and go straight for the guys to find his mate. Parents have been
told they may NOT opt out their children. Joel Osteen's betrayal of the
Word of God when asked about gay marriage was made all the more egregious
when you consider how desperately that state needs to hear the truth. Instead
the papers reported that Osteen, as a pastor, likes to "stay positive".
Meanwhile, the children of the state are indoctrinated in the varieties
of gay sex in their public school classrooms. Hats off to the Americans
there who are fighting for decency and protection of children. I want to
direct you to the website of Article 8 Alliance, a group of American parents
who have had enough of Sodom's foot soldiers marching over their children
and who don't need simpering evangelical celebrities making their job harder.
Take five minutes on this website to get a feel for the scale of the battles
in that state. It's really this bad.

Osteen Does Not Believe in Using Much Scripture by Slice of Laodicea,
12/15/06
Here's a fun little
YouTube Video of Joel Osteen on Larry King Live. The signature quote
from this snippet is, "What I try to do is just preach practical principles
and I may not bring the scripture in til the end of my sermon and I don't
feel bad about that." Well I guess if you think Christian Pastor's should
be teaching from the scriptures, don't bother Pastor Osteen. He feels no
guilt for preaching something else. At least he's honest about it.

Osteen Sermon Review by Slice of Laodicea, 12/15/06
Many times we intuitively know that a sermon that we've heard was
'off'. But, we don't know how to quantify that feeling There is a little
known Christian radio host who broadcasts on a small station in St. Louis
that regularly reviews sermons. The host's name is the Rev. Todd Wilken
and he critiques sermons using a set of diagnostic questions that determines
whether or not a sermon is Christ-Centered and Cross-Focused. I find his
sermon reviews to be extremely insightful. Here
is a link to a sermon review that he did on Joel Osteen's sermon entitled
"How to Improve Your Self Image With Words'. I think you will find this
to be VERY interesting.
(11) Once
upon a time in the world Joel Osteen lives in ... by Ken Silva,
Apprising Ministries, 6/11/07
Only someone who has been mesmerized by Joel Osteen (it’s more common
than you think) or who has little grasp of the English language could possibly
miss the fact that Osteen is clearly a “preacher” who has thoroughly ingested
the spiritual poison of the Word Faith Movement (WFM); and a major tenet
of this metaphysical Gnostic cult is what has become known as the “prosperity
gospel.” As this progresses we’ll be looking more at its odious origin
for those who are new to this spiritual con, but for now let’s just see
if we might be able to help “pastor” Osteen to understand why it is he
is perceived as a “prosperity” preacher.

Wednesday evening I received a phone call from some good friends
(hi Doug & Sherry) telling me that Larry King had quoted me on his
program in talking to Joel & Victoria Osteen. Your humble heresy-hunter
got a “global” mention! Our friends sent me a video of the program
which I watched with great interest. Frankly, I was hoping that Joel would
do a better job this time in exalting our Lord Jesus Christ but again I
was sadly disappointed.

Osteen and The Prosperity Gospel by Gary Gilley, Think On These

As we have demonstrated Osteen’s message is exactly what unbelievers
and undiscerning Christians want to believe and they are thrilled to have
someone who claims to be a reliable spokesperson for God agree with them.
This would account for Osteen’s incredible success, but it does not account
for, or excuse, the inconceivable gullibility and immaturity of professing
Christians.
(16) Preaching
a False-Positive with a Smile by Mike Oppenheimer, Let Us Reason
Ministries, 1/10
Most have not listened carefully or long enough to hear Osteen's
heresy by Osteen. But give him time and those word faith statements will
become apparent. In my opinion, if you have listened often enough you have
heard nearly all the subject matter he conveys. He says the same type of
message in different ways, or maybe it's his voice and delivery that makes
it all sound the same. At best, one gets milk from him; at worst they get
positive thinking and word faith heresies. A pastor is called to feed the
flock the whole counsel of God- from Genesis to Revelation. Unfortunately,
people will interpret his soft-spoken manner as exhibiting a Christ-like
spirit and ignore the non-Biblical content expressed, which has been traded
in for a motivational spiritual pep talk. Again his fantasy of Jesus going
to hell and being under the power of Satan is no small teaching to ignore.
It deals with the gospel itself, the nature of Jesus, which does not qualify
him as a good teacher or minister by any Biblical standard. It is another
gospel.

Mormon To Joel Osteen: Shame On You by Worldview Times, 10/29/11
Dear Pastor Joel Osteen, Shame on You! I have
just watched your remarks regarding Mitt Romney and his Mormon faith, recorded
on video. Shame on you! You have given the enemies of the Cross a great
victory. Either through sheer ignorance of the Word or your apparent desire
to never offend anyone, regardless of their sins, you have handed the Mormons
a huge PR gift. You have insulted and denigrated the many former Mormons
like me who have spent their lives bringing Mormons the truth and to the
Real Jesus, who died for their sins on Calvary. You have defined our ministries
and my life's work as worthless.

of issues. It was the quintessential Joel on display.

Parsley - Preacher/Entertainer by Joseph Chambers, Paw Creek Ministries,"End
Times And Victorious Living" Volume 12, No. 6 This article was taken from
the latest issue of "End Times And Victorious Living" Volume 12, No. 6.
It details a few of the false teachings of Rod Parsley, and ever-present
televangelist on the Trinity Broadcasting Network. We have been watching
this man for a long time and, apart from his stated "prosperity gospel"
position, he has departed even further from the Scriptures recently into
some very blasphemous territory. We urge anyone who watches TBN (we
do not endorse watching TBN at all) to beware of this man and his teachings
and false anointing.

is a powerful motivational preacher who mixes truth with error. He is one
of the most popular Pentecostal
TV preachers in America
right now. He is able to release the anointing to people. Cuts up prayer
clothes to heal by laying hands on them and praying he literally transfers
and releases the tangible anointing. The prayer is answered due to the
what he calls the corporate anointing. This is more like a transferable
energy since the anointing is the Holy Spirit who is God and is being used
as a force. He tells us his faith is released toward us (faith is Godward
not toward man) He states because he prayed every prayer is answered."

in Christian infamy! This was the day that Rod Parsley went on global television,
via the TBN Praise the Lord program; live at New Beginnings Church in Dallas,
TX, with his “Healing Miracle Service”. This was a two hour televised program
dedicated to nothing but signs, wonders and miracles. Featured with Parsley
were many big names in the “Christian” television industry such as: Benny
Hinn, Jesse Duplantis, Paul Morton, Ron Luce, Larry Huch, and The Crabb
Family all under one roof, well…sort of. Hinn, Duplantis, Morton and Luce
were not really there. They had provided a quick pre-recorded speech on

I received a letter from Peter Popoff. I did not sign up for

This infamous televangelist, in the past, was found to be guilty
of wearing an earpiece so that his accomplices in his sound booth could
feed him personal information on people in his audience while he was claiming
to get personal messages directly from God. This letter proves that,
not only is he back as a regular on TV, he is also back to his old tricks.

-
No longer a need to be concerned about God’s Judgment
-
Repentance and confession of sin is never necessary
-
Wealth is for all Christians
-
God is continually restoring “New Truths” to the church—-New Revelations
-
Prince’s personal revelation from God is: “More grace; less judgment”
-
Prince believes that God WILL NOT JUDGE America because of the cross
-
The Moral law has no bearing on Christians today; it was abolished with
the Ceremonial law
-
Prince says that he never encountered anyone that said “now I can go out
and sin because of grace”
-
Repentance means “Only to turn around”

Sold For A Donation To TBN by Sandy Simpson, 1999
"The Balaam Network (TBN) has really been raking in the cash lately.
With The Omega Code movie in the top ten of money making movies (thanks
to discerning Christians everywhere) and their regular Praise-A-Thon, they
are rolling in dough. So much so that they can now afford to beam
utter heresy, like what you are about to read, to all of China. I
have been watching their fund raising antics the last three nights.
I never thought they could top John Avanzini's "Jesus and the disciples
were rich", "one hundred fold return" and "the widow's mite" (she "wonted"
something) ploys, but R.W. Shambach has just hit a new low. This
e-mail confirmed what viewers heard Shambach say the other night raising
funds for TBN. He has been on solidly for the last three days."
Robert Schuller
Note: Though technically Robert Schuller is
not of the Word-Faith camp out of RHEMA of E.W. Kenyon and Kenneth Hagin,
his roots from New Thought and Norman Vincent Peale are much the same.
Schuller's gospel has been termed "Possibility Thinking" while Word-Faith
is termed "Prosperity Gospel". Both ideas have much in common.

am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace

(Galatians 1:6-7). Millions of people around the world are familiar with
the ministry of Dr. Robert Schuller. His television program and books have
made him one of the most recognized figures in Christianity today. Many
look to him as an expert on Christian doctrine and living, but are the
teachings of Dr. Schuller in line with what the Bible teaches? In his work,
A Different Gospel: An Evaluation of the Teachings of Robert Schuller,
Pastor Gil Rugh compares the teachings of Robert Schuller with the Bible

His "self-esteem Christianity" has been adopted by multitudes. These believe

this error."

We linked to a report on the conference written by Berit Kjos and we cited
some pertinent comments from ex-New Ager Warren Smith. We want to call
our readers' attention to today's headline story on WorldNetDaily, "What

the webpage where Robert Schuller is selling New Age Gerald Jampolsky's
book Forgiveness, which is forewarded by Neale Donald Walsch who has written
prolifically about his "conversations" with his New Age "God." This Rethink

Schuller – The Humpty Dumpty of Evangelicalism by Gary Gilley,
Think On These Things, March 2008 - Volume 14, Issue 3
I could continue on documenting Schuller’s reworking of biblical
terms and theology statements, but the reader gets the point. By
using the cherished words so precious to those who love biblical Christianity,
he identifies with evangelicals. By infusing those words with new
meanings, meanings not in line with their Holy Spirit-inspired original
intent, he changes the Christian faith to a man-centered belief wrapped
around the core of self-esteem. Through the manipulation of truth
Schuller makes Christianity more palpable to the world, but at the same
time he guts it of its true meaning. Schuller’s new reformation plays well
with the unbeliever and the undiscerning Christian, but it does not line
up with biblical truth.

Birthplace of 'Hour of Power' Files for Bankruptcy in California
by Associated Press, 10/18/10
GARDEN GROVE, Calif. -- Crystal Cathedral, the megachurch birthplace
of the televangelist show "Hour of Power," filed for bankruptcy Monday
in Southern California after struggling to emerge from debt that exceeds
$43 million. In addition to a $36 million mortgage, the Orange County-based
church owes $7.5 million to several hundred vendors for services ranging
from advertising to the use of live animals in Easter and Christmas services.
The church had been negotiating a repayment plan with vendors, but several
filed lawsuits seeking quicker payment, which prompted a coalition formed
by creditors to fall apart, church officials said.

pulpit five years ago and had long before ceded day-to-day control of the
Garden Grove ministry, largely to his children and other relatives. There
were conflicting reports about what had taken place between Schuller and
the board members. But Robert Anthony Schuller said his father was ousted
because he had proposed adding new members to the board, which he described
as blighted by conflicts of interest.

mega-church Pastors, with a congregation of over 8,000 members. Tilton
was one of the first to make use of real-time satellite technologies and
he gave a platform to many of the charismatic televangelists today, including
Marilyn Hickey and others. Due to Rev. Liichow's personal knowledge of
Mr. Tilton this book has an added "edge" to it. It is fact-filled,
fully documented and like all other ICCDM publications, it is the only
book in print revealing the history and beliefs of this man. Tilton
is still on television today and he is still deceiving multitudes.
This is a fascinating look into the rise and fall of a Word of Faith movement
"superstar." The price is only $10.00, which includes shipping and
handling.

Can
Christians Buy A Miracle Like So Many "Christian" Leaders Teach?
For the most part Christian leaders are not outraged at this fleecing
and manipulation, rather, they continue to support and endorse these "Christian"
stations and false teachers, all to the detriment and hurt of God's precious
children. I pray that God will raise up men that truly care for the
sheep more than they do for their own carnal influence.

22,000
Member Megachurch: "To H*** With Happy Holidays!" by Slice Of Laodicea,
12/05
You might think this is a spoof but it is, unfortunately, reality.
What an excellent witness the church is these days. Woman Preacher Paula
White's megachurch, Church Without Walls, has now erected a huge banner
the size of a semi-truck and has started a campaign with the slogan, and
I quote, "To Hell With 'Happy Holidays'--Put Christ Back In Christmas".

Paula
White - False Teacher/Prosperity Preacher by Robert Wise, Forgotten
Word Ministries, 12/05
You know Paula White may be sharing SOME true
Gospel but she has tainted it with so much prosperity gospel that it is
now spoiled. As the Lord said, "A little leaven leaveneth the whole
lump." Galatians 5:9
(4) Paul
White: Unable To Blush by Jackie Alnor, Apostasy Alert, October
21, 2006
Paula White titled her October 16, 2006 broadcast
of her daily television program Paula Today, "Discover God’s abundant life
for you." She opened the show with this startling announcement of her upcoming
guests: "Two of the greatest minds that have ever been raised up for such
a time as this, are here to transform your mind, to take you to where you
want to live." The queen of the Prosperity Gospel went on to recount her
version of the Bible story of Joseph and his brothers, noting that Joseph
had learned the wisdom of the world and God had prospered everything he
touched. From that "Dr." White (she uses that title, though her doctorate
is honorary from some unknown, and no doubt unaccredited, institution)
concluded that if Christians would only learn the wisdom of this world,
they too would prosper in every endeavor as well.

Home Win Proves Too Good To Be True! by Michelle Bearden and Baird
Helgeson The Tampa Tribune, Published: May 25, 2007
TAMPA - LaShonda Dupree heard the drum roll, saw the gleaming lights
and the television cameras as she stood on stage at Without Walls International
Church. She was a 20-year-old single mother of three with bad credit and
an apartment she could afford only with government assistance. As the music
crescendoed, she realized she'd won the top prize in an essay contest:
a brand new, $100,000 house in Temple Terrace. "Congratulations on your
new home!" Pastor Paula White told Dupree. "I don't know if you know this
or not, but it's not just a house," Pastor Randy White informed the roaring
crowd. "It comes with all the furniture inside, too." Dupree was jubilant,
nearly in tears, as her children joined her onstage. "I was like, this
is not real," Dupree recalled of the giveaway Nov. 17, 2002, at Without
Walls' Lakeland campus. As it turns out, it wasn't.
(6) How
Blatant Can It Get by Jackie Alnor, 6/2/07
A shocking, though not surprising, exposé on Paula White
and her husband Randy ran May 20th in the Tampa Tribune newspaper. Another
black eye for Christianity in the public eye. As the world sees these false
representations of the Church, can we blame them for being cynical toward
the Gospel message?

Ed Young Jr. - Equal Opportunity Pimping by Preacher Bureau of

Pastor Ed Young Jr. may have taken the Doctrine of Pimping for Tithes
were no other Pimp Preacher has ever gone before; “If you don’t pay tithes
don’t come to church.” In a video of a sermon dated October 10,2010 Ed
Young Jr. makes a very fiery plea to his congregation to pay tithes or
walk out of the church. Even those who would normally defend the exploitive
practice of paying tithes had to admit that he may have gone too far.

A Whole
Lot Of Wishful Thinking These Days!
PART 2
by Sandy Simpson
This DVD series is a teaching based on this
article.
In this DVD series I want to detail a number of beliefs people have
these days that have no basis in Scripture. I am going to roam all
over the map, so to speak, and try to give fairly short answers on a number
of topics and also give you useful links to articles that will help you
deal with any particular issue. It is truly amazing how many false
ideas people cling to without giving a thought to what the Bible has to
say on the subject.
Wishful Thinking 2 is only $5. plus s/h. for US. Go here

Donations
Accepted!
First of all, the best way you can support this web site is to
be a Berean. Search the Scriptures daily and stand firm in your faith against
the apostasy of the last days. It would give me great joy if more Christians
would learn to discern! Secondly, please continue to uphold this
ministry in prayer. The expository nature of this site has brought down
the wrath of the enemy countless times. Thirdly, there are many
costs involved in running this site as well as providing research and materials
so that you will be armed with the truth. I send out three separate newsletters
and provide other apologetics materials free of charge to Christian leaders
in this area of the world. I am a full time missionary supported by sending
churches in the U.S. For some years I did not ask for support but some
people have sent me support and asked how they can help, so I want to provide
the following information. Please don't neglect other Christian ministries
that uphold the truth as God lays them on your heart. There are many.
