The Cadillac Gage V-100XM 706E2 "Commando" Armored Personnel Carrier was originally designed for convoy escort, reconnaissance or police riot control. Lafayette Escadrille Banner

During World War I, many Americans citizens volunteered with the Lafayette Flying Corps to serve as volunteer pilots and observers in French combat squadrons. In April 1916, the most famous American squadron, N124 "Escadrille Americaine," was established. Once America entered the war in 1917, many of the American volunteers were folded into the Army Air Service's 103rd Aero Squadron. (U.S. Air Force photo)

The front of this map case has a world map on it, and the inside cover includes multiple paper maps covering the entirety of the globe in labeled manila pockets. The inside of the case includes 18 rolled maps of various world regions. The map case was presented to Gen. Thomas D. White by the National Geographic Society. Gen. White served as Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force from 1957-1961. (U.S. Air Force photo)

This radio set is a modified version of the AN/GRC-206(V)3, which is a multiband radio set that includes equipment for HF/SSB, VHF/FM, VHF/AM and UHF/AM. It can be remotely-controlled from up to two miles away via fiber optic cable and includes a microcomputer to assist the operator in conflict resolution. It was designed to be installed on M-151 Jeeps, M-113 Armored Personnel Carriers and High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWV). (U.S. Air Force photo)
