App Store Update: December 8

Every day hundreds of new apps make their debut on the App Store, and hundreds more are updated or reduced in price. We have sifted through the noise and highlighted those select few that might be worth your attention.

Charadium II ($0.99)
Charadium II is a promising new social drawing/Pictionary-style app.

My Xbox Live (Free)
With My Xbox Live players can access their Xbox friends, achievements, beacons, and plenty more right on their iDevice. Watch our full video tour of the new app.

Bejeweled Blitz (Free)
Popcap has spun out the popular one-minute Bejeweled mode into its own free-to-play App.

Bejeweled ($0.99)
At the same time, Popcap also released an all-new "definitive" Bejeweled iOS app. The company has promised frequent free content updates.

Batman Arkham City Lockdown ($5.99)
Arkham City Lockdown reminds us of Infinity Blade's one-on-one combat, but with Batman's famous gadgets and rogue gallery. We've been playing this one a lot, and will have a full review soon.

Mini Motor Racing ($1.99)
Binary Mill's top-down racer Mini Motor Racing is finally available following last month's exclusive hands-on.

Home Sheep Home ($0.99)
Beautiful and clever puzzle game Home Sheep Home is back for another round. $0.99 gets you over 40 stages of sheep-rescuing fun.

Theme Park (Free)
EA's Theme Park franchise returns, redesigned as a realtime free-to-play title, monetized via optional in-app purchases.

Six Guns (Free)
Gameloft's free-to-play supernatural Western Six Guns is finally available. This one has been on our radar for a while now.

Football Manager Handheld ($9.99)
Football Manager's $10 iOS price gives us pause, but if it truly features a full-featured handheld Football Manager experience, it is worth that price and more. We'll have more on this one soon.

Stretched ($0.99)
This Chillingo-published title is, you guessed it, a physics-powered action puzzler.

Let Me Out ($0.99)
Another cute action puzzler from Chillingo. We really like this one's cheerful art style.

Tank Riders ($1.99)
Reckless Getaway developer Polarbit is back, this time with a tank combat game. We haven't played this one yet, but it reminds us of the old tank minigame in Tron.


Refine Water (Free)
This cute and colorful puzzle game has gone free. With more than 80 levels, this deal is pretty tough to beat.

Match Panic (Free)
Deceptively simple puzzle game Match Panic has gone free for one day only. It scores bonus points for supporting iCade.

Robo5 HD (Free)
3D platform puzzler Robo5 has gone free for the first time since its October iOS debut.

jAggy Race (Free)
Excellent arcade racer jAggy Race is available for free! Don't miss this one.

Dead Space for iPad ($4.99)
EA's top-notch survival horror title is half off for today only.


SpellTower
This word puzzler just received the best kind of update: Universal support!

Scribblenauts Remix
Scribblenauts now has native text-to-speech functionality, for 4S owners only. Say an object's name and it appears in-game. Crazy! A new holiday playground is also available.
