Grand Theft Auto III iOS Price & Release Date Announced

Rockstar Games announced today that Grand Theft Auto III: 10th Anniversary Edition will be available on the iOS App Store and Android Marketplace next Thursday, December 15th, for $4.99.

In typical Rockstar fashion, many details of GTA III's mobile port remain under wraps, including whether any new content or other additions have been introduced, beyond upscaled graphics and improved lighting. In IGN's hands-on impressions Greg Miller had some trouble adjusting to the touch-screen controls, but was impressed to see the entirety of the Liberty City sandbox running on a tiny mobile device.

Rockstar also released an updated list of compatible mobile devices. As expected, at launch only the newest, most powerful hardware is supported. The company has promised that support for older iOS and Android phones & tablets will be added down the road.
